Tuk -> Bf 110G-4U (11/16/2009 11:19:08 AM)

The production lists include one assembly for this plane type active at start in the 1943 campaign. There doesn't appear to be any reference to it in the weapons data base and neither does it appear in the replacements list or air units list. Could we have some more information please.

Some of the airframe names are shortened, as we only have 20 characters to play with. It will be in the weapons DB as Bf 110G4/U7 or Bf 110G4/U8 or somesuch. It will be the only one that matches. Ron will know...

Hard Sarge -> RE: Bf 110G-4U (11/16/2009 1:12:50 PM)

that is a odd one

it is for the Bf 110G-4/R7 or Paked to R8

it is a name length thing

I have changed it to Bf 110G-4R Assembly to make it easier to tell what it is

(so earlier model will be Bf 110G-4 Assembly, the later model will be Bf 110G-4R Assembly)

(I am sure the U had a meaning, but if I can't remember it offhand, I don't think many others would either, so R should be easier to know what is what, sorry about that)

Hah... In that case...

Good spot, Tuk

Hard Sarge -> RE: Bf 110G-4U (11/16/2009 1:27:32 PM)

well....

it was U for a reason, only I don't think anybody is going to know the reason, so easier to change it, then try and explain it

(even more so, since I forgot too :(

Doesn't the "u" stand for "Umrust-Bausatz" ( Factory Conversion Set ) for such as the schrage-musik" (twin 30mm MK 108 cannon instalation ) fitted for night fighter duties ?

good guess, but not for this one, the R7 does not have Jazz Music, while the R8 does

(the M1 has but the G4 doesn't)

and just in case, it wasn't always 30mm, some planes used the 20mm as standard (and some pilots didn't like the 30mm and changed to the 20mm also)

Tuk -> RE: Bf 110G-4U (11/16/2009 2:32:42 PM)

Thanks, let's hope no one comes along and asks where the 110G-4U's gone [:D]
