EDIT: OK, I will answer my own question. It takes two turns to perform an amphibious invasion. My reading skills must be slipping with old age, or else this isn't clearly stated in the manual. Anyway, problem solved.
It is the last March turn in 1940, and I want to invade Denmark. Part of my operation is intended to be amphibious. Having read the manual, I thought I was prepared, but something isn't working for me...
I purchased the required points, have my fleet at sea in the Baltic, and clicked on a unit in a Baltic port to make it an amphib. The unit disappears from the map, but does NOT show up in the fleet box, nor is it listed when I scroll through the fleet composition.
Where am I going wrong?
