|
Bear Bryant's #1 ranked Alabama visited #15 Tennessee coached by 1st year coach Doug Dickey. Both teams came into the game with 4-0-0 records. The Tide earned their victory cigars in a hard fought 13-0 win over the Vols. You can see in the stats below that Alabama used a balanced offensive attack. Joe Namath wasn't his usual spectacular self but he was effective. Wayne Trimble gained 120 yards on 26 carries. Alabama did not score until the 4 minute mark of the 3rd quarter. After intercepting an Art Galiffa pass at the UT 49, Alabama took 11 plays to cover the 49 yards. Both teams have an open date in week 6. Alabama returns to action in week 7 by playing Oklahoma State for homecoming. The Vols will play at LSU in week 7. Old Coach [image]local://upfiles/15153/0080CC6E8465491EBD83A30D4166A3CB.jpg[/image]
