Is there a way when building a scenerio to adjust how quickly units will recover readiness? In the scenerio I'm building I don't want to change proficiency, supply, hex size or turn length. An event would do but there isn't one. Some setting (like attrition divider for example) would do but I don't know of one. Replacement Priority should only affect replacement equipment (but I haven't tested it).

HI shortty.  Welcome to the crowd here.  Thanks for posting.  But to answer your question:  I'm not aware of any setting a designer can use with the editor we have that will effect how quickly readiness is recovered.  Maybe you could adjust the gametime each turn takes?  Instead of 1/2 weekly turns you could use weekly turns etc.  Or monthly turns.
Something like that?

Increasing the formation supply distribution efficiency may help some

Hi guys,
I've been playing the game and reading this forum for years so I feel like I know you all already but the "wecome" is nice anyway :-)

I'm at 10km and 1 day which works well but I guess I could bump it to 1/2 week and reduce the movement bias to give the same hexes moved per turn.  I haven't tested that but I believe that it should increase the supply recovery by the same amount as readiness.  If that's the case then I could just increase the supply for that side (or formation) and accomplish the same thing.  What I'm not liking is that supply recovers OK but readiness takes much longer.  What can I do to increase the rate of readiness recovery without increasing the rate to resupply?

larryfulkerson -> RE: Readiness recovery (11/24/2009 3:27:51 AM)

I saw a document one time that had a formula for figuring out the readiness and it involved supply somehow but I don't remember how.  What I DO remember is that as supply goes up readiness does too.  But how fast and so on I don't remember.  I took a look around the Rugged Defense site ( which is where I seem to remember seeing it ) but no joy.  So the short answer is that this question is over my head too.  Sorry.

EDIT:

I got this from the TOAW III manual:

Your units’ Readiness declines during movement and combat. Unit readiness recovers at the beginning
of every Turn except the first. The amount recovered is based on the Scenario’s time and distance scales, but will generally be approximately the amount needed to fully recover from a maximum movement.

Yep, I've seen what the manual says but its just not detailed enough to allow me to increase readiness recovery without increasing resupply (and not totally screw up the scenerio that is).  I'd be embarrassed to tell you how many years and how many hours I've been playing this game.  I've setup more test scenerios than I can count to figure out any number of things but this time I thought I'd just be lazy and ask.  I don't have the energy to figure out all the details just now but when I do play with it I'll post my results here.

Any insight would still be appreciated though!!!!!!!

Well, there IS a post-manufacter site ( http://forums.gamesquad.com/forumdisplay.php?f=10 ) that lists the order and etc, shortty....

Of course, you would have to add the numbers......eh?

Larry,

Are you thinking of the Supply article that Ed Wilcox (?sp) wrote ? If so, I found it on Silvanski's site. (Thanks, Sil !) Altho, that article seemed to be more about 'playing' than about 'scenario design', which is what I think shortty is asking.

And from memory, the readiness recovery _is_ linked to supply recovery. I'll guess that readiness 'loss' is based on supply usage as well, since recovery's are linked.
