SeanD -> Matrix Games Announces their 2009 Holiday Sale! (11/25/2009 4:39:27 PM)

Spread holiday cheer (and your strategic prowess) at a special discounted price!

At Matrix Games, we are feeling positively jolly about our 2009 Holiday Sale. This year’s annual sale is our biggest yet and matches our best discounts from past Holiday Sales as gamers can now get a huge portion of our catalog at up to a 30% discount!

Starting on November 25th and continuing until Midnight on January 17, 2010, gamers around the globe will be able to purchase most titles in the Matrix Games catalog at up to 30% off!

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said “Some people enjoy the fresh pine smell of a Christmas tree or the classic holidays carols sung for generations to get them in the spirit of Christmas. But for those of you who still like the sound of Panzers rolling across Europe or the orders of a squad commander trying to storm the Normandy beaches in addition, this sale will bring the best of both worlds! After the success of last year’s huge Holiday Sale, we decided to make it even bigger this year. There’s never been a better opportunity to stock up on our games. Don’t snooze through it and miss these great savings! Our Game on Demand boxed copy is a perfect present for your favorite wargamer – it comes shrink wrapped and our Standard editions include a printed manual for a present with some extra weight.”

This year has been busy for the “wargaming elves” at Matrix as there have been many quality products added to our lineup. Here’s a brief rundown of all the games this holiday season can help you catch up on!
  • Armada 2526 – A space-based blend of real time tactical battles and turn-based strategy from the lead designer behind Medieval 2: Total War.
  • Officers – The Matrix Edition – Cleaned up and improved for the Matrix Edition, Officers brings World War II battles on a truly massive scale and in real time.
  • Smugglers IV – Doomsday – A turn-based space-trading game where you take command of an advanced space ship amidst a galaxy torn by war and crime.
  • Gary Grigsby’s Eagle Day to Bombing the Reich – This title combines two classics (Battle of Britain and Twelve O’clock High) into one detailed simulation of the Allied strategic bombing campaign against the Germany during World War II.
  • Operation Barbarossa – The Struggle for Russia – The fate of the Eastern Front is in your hands with this turn-based strategy game inspired by the old Panzer General series.
  • Conquest! Medieval Realms - A turn-based game that combines the pure strategic gameplay of Chess and the key principles of military strategy in a historical setting.
  • War in the Pacific – Admiral’s Edition – Packed with improvements to its predecessor, this is the most immersive and realistic WWII Pacific Theatre wargame ever.
  • WW2: Time of Wrath – A turn-based grand strategy title that serves as the highly improved and expanded sequel to WW2: Road to Victory.
  • World War II: General Commander - An introductory war strategy game which brings a unique mix of scale, combat dynamics, and force management.
  • Horse and Musket: Volume I - Relive the exciting and trying days of Frederick the Great with this acclaimed turn-based battle system, a powerful editor, new artwork, and more.
  • Close Combat: The Longest Day - A highly enhanced rebuild of the critically acclaimed Close Combat Invasion Normandy in all its real time tactical glory.
  • Crown of Glory: Emperor’s Edition – This sequel to the acclaimed Crown of Glory improves on the original in every area, immersing the player in the epic events of the Napoleonic era.

Hey Eric, there is an issue with the pricing on the John Tiller bundle. If I select the ten dolllar off deal for buying both the store charges me $19.99 for Napoleon and $29.99 for Civil War. That is no discount at all because if I select each individually it is $6.00 less because both games are charged $21.99 each. Shouldn't it be 33% off the bundle price too? $49.99 - 33% = $33.49. Some noob might come along and pay more for both games by buying the bundle instead of just buying each individually.

Erik Rutins -> RE: Matrix Games Announces their 2009 Holiday Sale! (11/27/2009 2:12:18 PM)

I'll look into the bundle pricing next week, thanks for the heads up.

seydlitz_slith -> RE: Matrix Games Announces their 2009 Holiday Sale! (11/29/2009 2:59:50 AM)

In looking at the list, the latest releases (AE and Bombing the Reich) are appearently not on sale. Is this correct?

jwilkerson -> RE: Matrix Games Announces their 2009 Holiday Sale! (11/29/2009 7:45:14 PM)

Definitely confusing wording. The text above the price list includes both AE and Bombing the Reich and says that these two games are among those which "this holiday season can help you catch up on!" But since these two games are not actually in the price list - we have to assume one of the ways the holiday season can help us catch up on them is NOT because they are discounted - but perhaps just because we have more time on our hands! Hello All

Got a problem!

I decided to buy John Tillers Battleground Nap wars for 12.99 in the sales. However I saw a link that said that I could buy it bundled with his Civil war game for £18.91; so I went for that instead.

The purchase screen only showed the civil war game, but I didn't think anything of it. When the download was finished I found that I only had the civil war game, but I've been charged for the bundle.

How can I rectify this?

Sargon he probably hasn't seen your message... I recommend you send a PM to Erik Rutins. He's the man. [;)]

Sargon,

Please e-mail me at erikr@matrixgames.com with your order number and I'll figure out a solution for you. It seems the bundles are still not working properly with the holiday pricing. I just spoke with DR about that and hopefully we'll have it sorted out by tomorrow.

Regards,

- Erik

Too bad, there's no discount for War in the Pacific – Admiral’s Edition . 53,99 EUR a bit expensive for me.

It's expensive for everyone, but IMO, well worth it.

Udet -> RE: Matrix Games Announces their 2009 Holiday Sale! (12/17/2009 10:04:27 AM)

Is there any longer a problem with the combined Tiller bundles sale? Or is it save now to buy it?

If one bought WITP you got a $20 discount to get WITP-AE

If passed on WITP... you missed on AE discount..

It's still appears to be messed up. I looked at a bundle for Panzer Commander, and now I cannot get anything but the bundle price in my firefox browser. Might have to destroy cookies, because the price came up right in IE, which I normally do not use.

Edit to add:

I checked back after a couple of hours, and the price was back to normal. So apparently, something timed out like the web server session.

ArtilleryHorse -> RE: Matrix Games Announces their 2009 Holiday Sale! (10/26/2010 12:39:18 PM)

Oh great, now we can by their garbage graphics games for only 4 times what they are worth instead of 10 times what they are worth, Thx Matrix!!

Garbage games? Come on, man! I plan on getting Battles in Italy and possibly the Disaster/Across the Dnepr series. They will definitely be worth it because last year or the year before I bought Battles in Normandy and it is a very good game.

It's always good to get the whining in early though.

hgilmer3 -> RE: Matrix Games Announces their 2009 Holiday Sale! (10/26/2010 11:31:24 PM)

Aww crap, and I fell for it.

Razz1 -> RE: Matrix Games Announces their 2009 Holiday Sale! (10/27/2010 5:15:14 PM)

What happens if you want the physical copy so you can get the manual; like War in the Pacific Admiral Edition?

martok -> RE: Matrix Games Announces their 2009 Holiday Sale! (10/27/2010 11:41:24 PM)

Then I imagine you'd have to pay for the physical copy (as opposed to the DD version).

Pretty good timing. See above. [:D]
