BaitBoy -> 180 day vacation (12/1/2009 2:13:21 PM)

In the new beta patch, we are given the option to send a pilot home for 180 days. I can't seem to find any explanation of what this does except to remove the pilot from the game for 180 days. Why would a player want to do this?

Another question along these lines: if I do remove him for 180 days, where can I still see his name? That I can tell, it shows up no where on a list. He's still there right?

O.K. It seems that there is no reason that a player would use this option, so why is it in the game?

From the allied point of view, with a surplus of raw pilots, could you use it to cull out the "bad draws" you get when drawing new pilots into a group. The occasional low end performers that show up through the random number generator?

Smeulders -> RE: 180 day vacation (12/7/2009 11:20:29 PM)

You can just send them to the reserve, same effect only you can recall them to a training unit if you want to.

Q-Ball -> RE: 180 day vacation (12/7/2009 11:50:23 PM)

Unrelated topic: I have noticed that when you request a veteran pilot, you will not necessarily see them right away on the PILOT screen for that unit. You sometimes see them, and they are usually listed with a delay, but not always. You can see the pilot in the RESERVE pilot pool screen under that particular unit. It takes awhile for the pilot to cycle through to the active unit.

You guys finding the same thing basically?
