Well, households all around the world will get nothing done on their honey do lists and there will be a bunch of bleary eyed guys dragging their butts to work tomorrow morning (me among them). [:D]

Just click on the "Check for Update" link on your game menu.

ages later....

Mine is booming along, but I can throw a rock and hit Digital River, almost.[:)]
If the server isn't at DR, then I must just live right.

Ooops, it's done. Bye.

Looks like I'm downloading from Digital Puddle [:(]

May I offer "Digital Trickle" as a more apt alternative?

Off with his head! We know he's made a deal with the devil.

Erik Rutins -> RE: Heads up... (12/8/2009 11:37:46 PM)

Either your firewalls are blocking it or you are all overloading our servers. The updates go through us, rather than DR, so overload is a possibility.

scott64 -> RE: Heads up... (12/8/2009 11:50:03 PM)

[:'(] Yah, done. [:)]

bradfordkay -> RE: Heads up... (12/8/2009 11:57:36 PM)

My thought is that it was an overload of your servers. The first two times I tried to dl it, I got "failed to make connection" messages. The third time I got through. It took a little over an hour on the DSL line at work (the beta took about 14 hours on the dialup connection at home).

Who us?

I got a "busy signal" of various sorts the first 3-4 times but then got on and downloaded slowly (likely due to all the traffic) but without mishap.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: Heads up... (12/9/2009 5:40:12 AM)

Note:
When loading AI games after updating, you may notice the 'show hex sides' suddenly come on and some options get reset.

This is because the preferences were not being saved (although it thought it was) but are now.
Just reset them to what you want and continue. Loading saves from 1095 will have the settings from then on.

Also, you should be able to change map style without exiting the game now. Just change it before loading a save and it will use the current setting regardless of how it was when saved.

This should also correct the problem in PBEM when the Japanese player changes options. In earlier builds, changing options was only saved when the player ended his turn. This lead to some cases where reports were turn off, but Japanese player forgot to turn back on just before ending his turn.

Now you can change the options, and save normally. The settings will be restored when the game is reloaded.

The other good thing about this is that when devs are looking at a save, we now know what settings were being used. Which might help with determining the problem (if any[;)]).

Local Yokel -> RE: Heads up... (12/9/2009 10:20:31 AM)

Why all the angst?  20 or 40 Kb/sec?  1015 a.m. on the 9th here in the UK and I'm getting a steady 182 Kb/sec - oh I see you all got killed in the rush [:D]

On a serious note, our Guadalcanal scenario PBEM has been running on the Patch 2 Beta, and we have just had a major carrier battle.  Have changes between the beta and the v1.00.95 update been made that might significantly affect the outcome of such a battle?  I think it's unlikely, but wouldn't want the result to have been unduly skewed by beta code.

There. Done in under ten. [8D]
