But, that is the big difference between Paradox and Matrixgames. I've never seen Erik or others close a thread because someone became pissy about one of Matrixgames games (which is rare btw). Matrixgames is not afraid of critisism no matter what kind it is whereas Paradox appears to be afraid.
The way I see it if you release a game in pretty decent shape as Matrixgames does you don't have to worry about threads like Paradox gets.

Again...if they are afraid of the criticism in these threads why do they not delete them? I'm bored of your vendetta now and will move along...good luck with your venom spitting

As a regular here for many years, I feel kind of sorry that Matrix Games forums are being used for this kind of company bashing.

Well it seems Bairdlander is bashing Matrixgames on the Paradox forums. [:D]

The big difference between Matrix Games and Paradox is that Paradox is MUCH bigger. Paradox forums has 420 000 threads, 10 million posts and 183 000 members. Matrix has
30 000 members, 2.2 million posts and 205 000 threads(also 500 suboforums...).

Noooo!!!
What will happen to Vainglory of Nations?
I was hoping it would be released and be better than Victoria.
Hope Paradox keeps AGEOD independent as they promised and not say "Vainglory is in direct competition to Victoria, you must stop development. Or make it a console game instead."

For what AGEOD team members had said lately on several threads VGN is still planned for 2010. It seems hopefully it's not going to be canceled [:)]
So probably both Victoria 2 and VGN will appear in 2010 (no idea which will come firsts and which last). It will be an interesting year for Victorian era fans [:D]
Cheers

PD: AGEOD forums are also planned to keep on going as before, so don't worry too much by Paradox moderation manners [;)]
The only change up to now is that Paradox has opened a new Rise of Prussia subforum to get the word spread around Paradox community

I remember visiting the old Paradox boards fairly often while waiting, and during, the first disappointing HOI.  Soon after 9/11, there were a few idiot posters from europe there who commenced with the America bashing and saying that the US deserved it.   The only person who got banned was some Yanqui pig-dog who decided to raise hell with the afforementioned posters.  The mods deleted his post and left the others there, more than one thread that they were.  I seem to recall at least one of the mods having a difficult time not joining in on the yukfest.

Between their buggy games, charging for loosely termed sequels, and questionable forum moderation, I try to stay as far away from them as possible.  It took me a couple more purchases before I was done with them altogether.

Its been a while since I've seen that kind of stuff-I know what you're talking about. I recall one Finish fellow saying he "spits on Americans"-I was embarrassed for his fellow Finns. As Reagan said; "the children will play".

Should it ever appear that PI supports that kind of stupidity, I will be done with them. I can hold a grudge for a while; I have not spent 20 cents on any Toshiba product since they sold top secret (US) submarine propeller technology to the Russians. I think that was more than 20 years ago-I think I can make it another twenty years.

Widell -> RE: Paradox aquires...AGEOD (12/23/2009 4:00:04 PM)

[sm=00000028.gif] Wow! I thought it was kind of fun when I misspelled bashing and killroyishere joked about free basing. However, guys! That was a joke! When the 9/11 tragedy makes an ingredient in a discussion about AGEOD being acquired by Paradox, it seems like some free basing most certainly has been involved..... I can't speak for killroyishere, but my intention was not to advocate drugs in any way ;-)

Obsolete -> RE: Paradox aquires...AGEOD (12/23/2009 9:09:50 PM)

Well, of all the complaints about purged threads, I took a look over there last night.  There is quite some thread mentioning the negativity HoI III got in the Arm Chair General (IIRC?)  Anyhow, seems that one has escaped the wrath of the Guestappo/KGB/CIA/ secret-service patrol.  :P

So, at least we can agree they don't censorship EVERYTHING!

For someone who claims to have so many issues with Paradox and their forums, you certainly seem to spend a lot of time over there reading threads.

So what.For my personal taste I like more detail and more micromanagement.Some people like scripted and simplicity.The only Matrix game I have that comes close to the detail of HOI2 is ED/BTR which I have and enjoy playing.WitPAE I will get in the future,but might wait untill WitE.I like both PI and Matrix.I just dont think thier "grand strategy" titles are detailed enough for me.Thats what's good about forums,you can state your personal opinion.Now look for the thread on PI forums where I complain about PI's HOI3 release.
