Greg was this a PBEM?

Halsey -> RE: Campaign End of Game (12/24/2009 12:13:52 PM)

3:1 Decisive, Jan 1,1945.
My Christmas present.[;)]

Material losses were just too great for the Japanese.
My territorial reconquests weren't that spectacular.[:D]

Just a thought, maybe the AI is a little too reckless?
Fun early on gave me pretty much a cakewalk later in the game.

bsq -> RE: Campaign End of Game (12/24/2009 3:48:58 PM)

Seems like the AI threw it's aircraft away as that is where the difference is greatest.

I managed a 2:1 in Feb 45, but it was acheived with 22000 Strategic Points (and a lot of lost B-29's which tempered it to the 2:1 I got)

That's to be expected. The further you get from the start of the game the more difficult it is to write a program that can react to the situation on hand.

Andy Mac -> RE: Campaign End of Game (12/24/2009 4:46:39 PM)

try it on Ironman Ai gets more throughout that helps it out

Andy Mac -> RE: Campaign End of Game (12/24/2009 4:47:09 PM)

p.s. Ironman on Hard difficulty setting.....

LoBaron -> RE: Campaign End of Game (12/24/2009 4:53:41 PM)

eeek...

Allied Aircraft Points lost: 9988
Japanese Aircraft Points lost: 37376

May you present a screeny of your ace pilots? [:D]

Congrats for finishing!!

stuman -> RE: Campaign End of Game (12/24/2009 5:03:56 PM)

Interesting to see a finished game.

Yes....but where is the marching band and all the confetti and kissing the strange lady beside you and the 'FREE DRINKS ON THE HOUSE!' I thought with such an achievement you would get the full works! [:D][sm=00000289.gif][sm=00000280.gif]

CarnageINC -> RE: Campaign End of Game (12/24/2009 5:35:42 PM)

Wow, look at the operational loss ratio vs. sorties flown!  What would account for this huge of a margin?

Maybe the AI doesnt rest its pilots as often and as needed compared to a human player?

And if thats the case, this an area the AI should be improved upon to help it cope against a human.

0.09% doesn't look at all bad...

Compare it to the allied human player results.

True, but if you look at the loss versus sorites for allied it's 1:1107.8 versus japan it's 1:511.4 a 1:2.1 ratio. I didn't know this was against the AI...and I guess the pilot quality takes it toll to.

Halsey -> RE: Campaign End of Game (12/24/2009 5:55:25 PM)

Looks like Ontong Java was the graveyard of the IJN

Allied Aces:
Many more with 30+ victories...

It was...
The IJN had a fixation on hitting Moresby and Milne Bay, then cruising down to the Solomons to get polished off.[;)][:D]

Just about every capital ship was done in by Allied LBA.

Compare it to the allied human player results.

That is the allied human result, 9 losses for every 10000 sorties, compared to just over double that for the Japanese (who would suffer from declining pilot quality given all the other losses - so it looks about right).

Andy Mac -> RE: Campaign End of Game (12/24/2009 7:22:15 PM)

Hmmmmm anything thats a fixation is wrong I will take a look at it .... agian.

stldiver -> RE: Campaign End of Game (12/24/2009 8:13:41 PM)

Curious at Missions over 1000 plus for pilots, I thought the Allied pilots rotate out after so many missions?

Am I incorrect? Just an assumption.

Halsey -> RE: Campaign End of Game (12/24/2009 11:27:49 PM)

Just the Americans I think.

That's probably why so many Commonwealth pilots are at the top of the list.

US rotation keeps out any heavy hitters.[:D]

Halsey -> RE: Campaign End of Game (12/24/2009 11:30:02 PM)

I was also curious about the C-47 air kills.

I never flew them into contested air space.
Is this a way for the AI to gain more points?
More than likely the losses were operational.

Mac Linehan -> RE: Campaign End of Game (12/25/2009 12:45:59 AM)

Halsey -

Congratulatons for staying the course and finishing the game - that alone is worthy of note!

Mac

Dukemourn -> RE: Campaign End of Game (12/25/2009 1:03:30 AM)

Congrats Halsey...

What was your difficulty setting?
