[sm=crazy.gif][sm=crazy.gif][sm=crazy.gif] this is the complete joke Iīm talking on the mainforum about... the only way for the invasion to lose troops is due accidents... what a fridging joke... up to now, the counterfire accounted for 22 casualties... this is what happens in the game if you do an opposed landing that should shred a good part of your troops to pieces... itīs just not working, the game as it is now is in a better Beta state and thatīs it... sorry... how this slipped through the testing is beyond me though. The devs decide to take out the routine that fires on the landing troops completely and were obviously thinking that the only cause of dead/wounded during an opposed landing would be accidents? Looks like theyīve watched Rambo too many times... if this is true for the Allied later on too - and I guess it will as itīs the same not working routines - then landings will be funny... itīs like unloading in a friendly port when the TF is too big to dock and you lose some equipment during disembarking... so if the troops will be prepped it will be a cakewalk to land a dozen division on a hostile beach because a) the CD routine is complete bullocks and b) the routine about the beach being defended is not existing anymore - which is even more ridicoulos as the CD routine is just not working but the other one was taken out of the game... letīs stay talking about films: donīt watch Rambo but watch the first 10 min of Saving Private Ryan... landing on a hostile beach is no PICKNICK, unfortunately in AE the devs made it being a picknick as the routine was taken out... [8|] no, Singapore and the PI or Burma are not uncontested, they will fall at the usual timescale, if not earlier (Burma is overrun by the IG div already)... with the Amph Bgd not landed and the rest of the troops aboard the ships, I guess Rainer has planned to land 800+ av... After the loss of PM Iīve planned to move the 18th Brit division to Darwin but the TF was two days out when we spotted KB moving on Darwin, so we turned around again... once again the Japanese can move so fast that we canīt do anything... the 18th div is coming in on a transport TF by default so I first had to unload at Perth to form an amphib TF to be able to unload them at a smaller port again... with the British, I would have had nearly 700 av behind level 2 forts... I was able to bring in an Indian bgd earlier, which now proves to have been a fault as weīll lose for sure... only advice I can give myselve is that you canīt defend anything but the West Coast if the Japanese player wants to take it and knows how to take it, therefore, donīt even try to bring in troops if you canīt bring in the hammer... and you canīt, because the hammer would have been three front line divisions for Darwin and thatīs impossible to do until mid Jan 42 because the unlaoding alone would take the Allied three weeks at this level 3 port and probably not even all equipment could be unloaded... thatīs the next joke, Iīve got things on ships that I canīt even unload from an amphib TF at a friendly port size 3 for example, the Japanese unload everything over a hostile beach all the time... lol... Iīve also tried to pick up things from atolls (6 inch CD guns for example) and couldnīt load them onto amphib TFs, probably due to load restrictions... another time lol, if I canīt pick them up from a size 1 or 2 port onto an amphip TF, how did the fridging things get there? Ahh, they were probably manufactured at the Pago Pago arms company... [8|] Iīm getting all the time messages of TFs (amphib) that they canīt completely unload at some friendly port (up to size 3), the enemy keeps throwing heavy weapons onto hostile beaches... nice... Darwin is lost, expected to happen within the next two days... slooooooowlyyyyyyyy -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- but the biggest joke (my first impression) is coming here: Ground combat at Singapore (50,84) Allied Shock attack Attacking force 32781 troops, 394 guns, 180 vehicles, Assault Value = 1210 Defending force 51418 troops, 579 guns, 571 vehicles, Assault Value = 1578 Allied adjusted assault: 522 Japanese adjusted defense: 1889 Allied assault odds: 1 to 3 Combat modifiers Defender: terrain(+), leaders(+), fatigue(-) Attacker: shock(+) Japanese ground losses: 1390 casualties reported Squads: 0 destroyed, 96 disabled Non Combat: 5 destroyed, 88 disabled Engineers: 2 destroyed, 36 disabled Guns lost 7 (0 destroyed, 7 disabled) Vehicles lost 29 (3 destroyed, 26 disabled) Allied ground losses: 3933 casualties reported Squads: 146 destroyed, 399 disabled Non Combat: 237 destroyed, 285 disabled Engineers: 3 destroyed, 42 disabled Guns lost 16 (6 destroyed, 10 disabled) Vehicles lost 49 (15 destroyed, 34 disabled) Assaulting units: 3rd SSVF Battalion SSVF Brigade 2nd Loyal Battalion 11th Indian Division 27th Australian Brigade 1st Manchester Battalion 2nd Malay Battalion 1st Hyderabad Battalion Singapore Fortress 3rd Cavalry Regiment 2nd Gordons Battalion 1st Mysore Battalion 2/17 Dogra Battalion 5/14th Punjab Battalion 1st Malay Battalion 22nd Australian Brigade 9th Indian Division 24th NZ Pioneer Coy 111th RAF Base Force 224 Group RAF 2nd ISF Base Force 1st Indian Heavy AA Regiment 112th RAF Base Force 109th RAF Base Force 22nd Indian Mountain Gun Regiment 110th RAF Base Force 1st ISF Base Force Malayan Air Wing AHQ Far East 2nd HK&S Heavy AA Regiment 3rd Heavy AA Regiment Singapore Base Force 223 Group RAF 1st HK&S Heavy AA Regiment III Indian Corps 3rd HK&S Light AA Regiment Malaya Army 109th RN Base Force Defending units: 55th Infantry Regiment 15th Guards Regiment 23rd Ind. Well, Iīve thought that this is my chance to throw them out again with more or less the complete Malaya Army as the enemy must have a disruption of 85 or even more, therefore their adjusted av today would not be higher than 3-400. Hoorey, we order a shock attack. And what happens? We lose 500 av in this attack and Singapore wonīt hold much longer. I ticked out completely, cursing blody hell in front of my monitor making my gf asking me if Iīve gone nuts. Compared to the enemy adjusted av from yesterday, todayīs adjusted av was 23 times higher and this lead to a disaster of course. So how could that happen. Rainer explained it in his next turnīs email: in AE, only a part of the attacking troops is shock attacking and most of them are coming over the river in perfect shape. This has been changed from WITP and while it perfectly makes sense to me, I didnīt know. Wanted to read it up in the manual but couldnīt find it either. I could also have seen it in the cr of yesterday as only 15.000 enemy troops shock attack, the base av was 1743 though, which could not have come from only 15.000 troops... but this detail I havenīt noticed either of course... I welcome this change in ground combat, for this PBEM it has wrecked my day though and because of this, I will lose Singapore at least two or three weeks earlier as the defenders are completely wrecked now... GREAT! [:o]
