Herodotus18 -> Changing Sound and Display Preferences. (12/29/2009 11:07:44 PM)

Just purchased the game, and unlike "Aegod's American Civil War", I cannot disable Music or change my display resolution. I only have the option of turning all sound off.
Is there a way to change my display res to 1680x1050 and enable sound fx, but not music, by altering the Confinguration.ini, perhaps? I have added the lines that the readme suggests, but they don't work.

Aren't you supposed to be shooting down wood & canvas airplanes? [;)]

I'm glad you decided to purchase FoF, Herodotus. I think you'll like it once you get past the learning curve.

Unfortunately, the game engine is a bit elderly and is fixed at 1024x768, but using your video card drivers, like ATI's Catalyst Control Center, you can scale the game to use the whole screen(where everything will look stretched), or as I do, tell it to scale the game without changing the aspect ratio. This in effect places the game in the center of a widescreen monitor with black bars on all four sides.

I thought there was a separate check box for music and sound effects, but since I'm at work, I can't double check for you now. I'll check when I get back home.

Ok, setup a new game, or load your current game. Once the game is actually started, click the "prefs" button. Inside here you will see many options that you can changes. For audio, you can enable or disable sound effects, music and voices.
