ORIGINAL: larryfulkerson I'm building only something like 428 HRS squads per turn so even *IF* I get lucky and capture Leningrad and Stalingrad Dave will STILL be producing more than 2 X whatever I can produce of everything including, and especially, tanks. So I've already lost the attrition war. It's got to be maneuvoure or nothing. I mean I can't hold the front line for long whenever he gets his ENTIRE army on the front. I expect that will happen in about 10 turns from now. Maybe shorter. The trouble is that the '42 winter offensive starts right about then too. So he'll get a shock bonus and I'll be tired from all this fighting and he will have the advantage and I'll start to do defensive things instead of offensive things and it'll all go downhill from there. How's that for a prediction? I cut back, way back, on my attacks for the last three turns or so because I'd like to see 33,000 HRS squads assigned somehow. It's hovered around 32K for the last 10 turns or so and I haven't seen it hit 33K YET. Must be because of all my losses from the attacks each turn that's keeping it down there in the 32K range. Maybe I should cut back entirely on the attacking business. But I'm SO CLOSE to captureing Leningrad and Stalingrad that I feel like I *should* keep trying. Thoughts? Anybody? IIRC, even if you capture Leningrad and Stalingrad he will still be producing twice as many T-34 as was historically made. So you need to up the production of those FT-17 French tanks to counter that. [:D] But seriously, you have lots of green so resting folks isn't an issue. Maybe straighten your lines to get more reserves? Get in the fox hole, strap your M-1 steel pot down real tight, bend over, grab your ankles. You probably know the rest. [:D]
