Guys can some walk me throught the process of loading army planes ( for US) on to ship to get to the front?

Must be an transport tf w/ either AK or AKV type to load it along w/ air unit not being a restricted command (R next to HQ)

Hi John, on the air unit screen, top left hand corner where it says Attached to:, below is a screen shot and a quote from the manual p.155

7.1.1 AIRCRAFT RESTRICTIONS
Aircraft assigned to a restricted HQ may not be loaded on ships or transferred to a base that
does not report to its restricted HQ. Restricted HQs are usually shown with a (R) after their
name when displayed.

guys  can someone just give me a quick example of how a P-40 group in mid Dec 41 can be sea transported to Pearl and or Midway  are units  attached to west Coast command not able to do this

Alekks -> RE: air sea transports (1/14/2010 6:17:59 PM)

As already explained, if the squadron belongs to a restricted command, they cannot be loaded on a ship and hauled away to another location.

Those P40 squadrons assigned to West Coast Command (R) cannot load on a ship. They can shuffle around the bases on the western continental US, but you cannot move them via ship to Pearl or Midway.

However, if the assigned Command name is in Yellow text, you can click on it and then transfer the squadron to a non-restricted command (ie Pacific Fleet etc) and pay the Political Point cost to do so, then you can immediately load them onto a ship (AK, AKV) and send them wherever you please. Just don't let one of those darn I boats find them....but that's a different problem :)
