Drambuie -> Pearl Harbor repairs (1/22/2010 7:35:31 PM)

Lo all,

Has anyone noticed that PH seems to repair ships really slowly? I have one BB left there(with a few other small ships)repairing and it seems to be taking ages ... have moved others to the West Coast and they are much faster timings. Even changing it to high and critical makes only a day or two difference to the repair time - is this because there is nothing else to prioritise it over? Has 650 naval support there too.

I have no stats to back this up, just 'seems' much slower. Wonder if i'm imagining it ...

If your BBs are really hurt, send them to Seatlle. Much bigger yard than PH. (This is different than WITP where San Francisco was the king yard.)

Note that Port Size affects repairs - and damge is taken into account. If the Pearl Harbor strike damages the port is will reduce ship repair ability until the port itself is repaired.

What mode do you have them in?

One area I have found Pearl to really excel is when you send a large group of ships back to be upgraded. Put them in Pearl and they will quickly START their upgrades. I then move them to other parts to work off the damage accrued due to that upgrade.

You need to make sure the ships you send to Seattle have somewhat ok floatation & system damage.  I learned the hard way that a high system damage means your ship can't handle foatation damage well at sea and you can see your ships sink.

I try to get the ships repaired to a limited extent and then send them to Seattle.  Although in my current game I don't have too many battleships left at Pearl to have to worry about.

Yes, I've noticed this, too. I asked and got no real response either on this forum or in the bug-reporting section. I agree with you, and I did have stats. I tracked repair rates on the BBs for several months. The one BB in Pearl hardly repaired anything over months of time, and the other yards - Seattle, SF, Alameda, and LA - punched the major damage down a lot quicker. I had about 3 that were in equally bad shape - major damage in the 60s. None were repairing, so I sent two back to the West coast along with other BBs with less damage. Once on the West Coast, they repaired much quicker even though they started at the same point. Pearl has a bigger shipyard than San Diego and LA. Pearl has as much naval support as any other place. All were on critical and, as I understand it, the important thing is to make sure that you have 3x shipyard size to ship tonnage when using critical, which I had. I made sure that no other ship was ever in Pearl's shipyards - even for upgrades. Yet it still didn't do a thing. So I agree that there may be an issue. Good luck trying to get anyone to look at it.
