TOMLABEL -> CV2 Lexington 1941 in MS-12 courtesy of LIFE (1/23/2010 7:13:54 PM)

Still retains the 8-inch turrets which were removed prior to Coral Sea.

Probably just a submariner.

No, In the trade we called them bubbleheads. Shifty, underhanded (or at least underwater), sneaky types. They already partially sunk their ship, it was our task on the destroyers to help them finish the job.

The ships look different.

The ocean is still the same.

Yep. It's almost 40 years I've been out, and over 50 since I started going out there. But, I love it still, and cannot see it, sail it, or smell it enough!

Very nice and unique shot! It is actually quite rare to see Lex in Ms. 12 with the 8" turrets still onboard. Wonder if there is a false bow wave on her...

They call you 'targets'.
