Tuk -> Capodichino #2 (2/8/2010 5:29:00 PM)

Can anyone explain this? I targeted Capodichino airfield in PBEM, which was recced and when I get to watch the playback the raid attacks Capodichino #2, an airfield not represented on map and one I never knew existed. I won't go into why my raid is represented by LW planes, that's normal [8|] but is my raid attacking a non existant target WAD?

Further, all planes disappeared a while later after the action had shifted elsewhere, and then the whole thing went CTD. Don't think it's related, just another bug, as no raid appeared for either Capodichino in the action report.

once the airfields in Italy are captured, several of them will be used by the allies. They will also build a lot more (There is this big hub of Airfields over to the eastern coast of italy, ahh Foggia, it is. The number of airfields in that area will also increase after the allied steamroller has reached the Gustav Line.

My guess is that you are attacking an airfield that becomes active once the allies occupy this area. The Luftwaffe has not build it. If that is the case, we have a bug.

Hard Sarge -> RE: Capodichino #2 (2/8/2010 9:47:04 PM)

the attack is on a field that is not showing on the map yet

(the AI can be redirected from plotted targets to others)

once the raid is over, it will change the target to what was plotted

(not sure it is a bug, but it is something that the can happen, and most times, is not something we want to happen, not sure how to say that, it is doing what it is allowed to do, only it is something we don't want it to do ?)

(I have tried to get more spacing between some of the close placed targets, but with sites on delay, that is a bit HARDer to find and correct, or even know they are a issue, will looking into that field and see how close it is to the others)

for the LW fighters disappearing, they were too close to the front line when the line started moving, they will show up in the summery screen OOB page, on a delay (think it is 30 days)

Tuk -> RE: Capodichino #2 (2/8/2010 10:38:01 PM)

Hmm. I'm all for mistaken targeting, I'm sure it happened, and I just found my recce photos were 3 days old. But not being a believer in ESP I do find targeting non existing locations a bit far fetched.... unless it's currently under construction (early sept 43)? So I'd certainly welcome a review of this and, really, everything to do with the PBEM replays, which, and I apologise just in advance for not being able to put this politely, suck.

As for the disappearing fighters, I think we have a communication prob. What happened is ALL THE AIRCRAFT disappeared, ie ceased to be visible on the replay 'tape.'  Then a few dozen frames later, the tape/game crashed. I reopened and replayed, same result at feasibly the same point.

Hard Sarge -> RE: Capodichino #2 (2/8/2010 10:48:35 PM)

okay, follow now, and yes, mistook what you said

from what someone outside said, it may be a buffer issue with the replay

for targeting, the program knows where targets are, if they are on the map or not, it don't always seem to care, not sure if Harley can put a block/look for a delay date when it picks the target

(it does look to be part of the mistaken target set up, but, most times, it picks the same target, when Harley has some time, maybe he can find out why)

Tuk -> RE: Capodichino #2 (2/8/2010 10:51:09 PM)

Right, thanks. Is he taking  a break, Harley?

Hard Sarge -> RE: Capodichino #2 (2/8/2010 11:31:26 PM)

he busy, the UI work is normally much HARDer then just plain coding

and since I am more talkative, when he is busy I hang around and talk

some times, I even know somebody about what I am talking about, but it seems most people don't think so :)
