The new Sports Illustrated has some interesting pictures of WWII vintage aircraft (taken at the Palm Springs Air Museum) on pages 174-179.

I'll try to use that for the reason I buy that particular issue!! I do not think it will work!

So this issue has interesting pictures of today's 'bombers' and some pictures of cute 'bombers' from the 1940's? I like the shot of the one losing some of its coating on the cover, from what I saw on the net.... [:D]

I'm too cheap to go out and buy it so I did the google search. Aparently there is some controversy over one of the models posing next to a plane with swastikas (kill markings) on a fighter.

I tell you times have changed. I used to look forward to Fridays when I finished my weeks worth of chores and my mom would take me to the store so I could pick out a model to build. Plenty of swastikas on the models I built not to mention the nice paintings on the model boxes.

Nobody made a big deal. It was understood what it meant and stood for in the modern context and how we delt with it.
