Sturmbannfuhrer -> Class specification (7/6/2002 11:12:44 PM)

I need some help on unit classification...
Whats a CS tank...? a cruiser tank...? geurilla forces...? heavy infantry...? and most of all...what are tractors for...?

Goblin -> (7/6/2002 11:21:27 PM)

-A CS tank generally has a gun more suited to supporting infantry than fighting other tanks. Some have howitzers, some low-velocity guns. They support infantry attacks.

-A cruiser tanks was a series of fast, lightly armored tanks. Manueverability and speed kept them alive.

-Guerilla forces are infiltrators. You may infiltrate them on the deploy screen using the commando button. Similar to plotting arty. They will appear where you plot them about 75% of the time, give or take. Those that do not appear were unable to infitrate.

-Heavy infantry generally carries better or more armament than light infantry, but move slower sometimes as a result.

-Tractors (primary movers) are able to haul the large guns. Some AA/ATG's have a weight of 211 (size 2 gun, 11 crew). Most APC's can only carry size one guns. If you look at some of the tractors and other movers, they can haul these immobile guns around.

:)

Sturmbannfuhrer -> (7/6/2002 11:26:04 PM)

is there or will there be such thing as recovery vehicles...?

and thanks for the details...

Sturmbannfuhrer -> (7/6/2002 11:27:32 PM)

care to share more of those that hadn't mentioned b4 ?

chief -> (7/6/2002 11:50:57 PM)

Strum......alas no recovery vehicles in spwaw.:( :cool:

Goblin -> (7/6/2002 11:56:26 PM)

No, there aren't recovery vehicles. The turns in the game represent 3-5 minutes (approximately) of real time. That means a 15 turn battle represents about an hour of real time +/-. Recovery vehicles would come later, after the battle.

What else do you need to know?

Goblin -> (7/6/2002 11:56:47 PM)

chief beat me!

Goblin I concede (F9):( :( :( :D :cool:

Sturmbannfuhrer -> (7/15/2002 7:19:25 PM)

one more thing...
What are command tanks or hq units and the command posts for...?

G_X -> (7/16/2002 1:30:24 AM)

Command tanks are for rallying (Sarge Suchandsuch cannot attempt rally, 1Lt Whozit reduces suppression)

Command posts automatically reduce supression, making them great for defenders.

HQ units are the same as command tanks.

Major Destruction -> (7/17/2002 10:02:43 AM)

Hey Goblin, what is this thing you have against M4 Jess? I s he that hard to beat?

Do you need lessons?

Goblin -> (7/19/2002 6:34:36 AM)

M4Jess cruely and deliberately baited me into a fight! He will pay!:p ;) He was a friend, now an enemy!:( :mad: :eek: :)

Steve Wilcox -> (7/21/2002 1:08:17 AM)

CS is shorthand for Close Support. I know Goblin's already explained the function, I'm just adding an explanation of the abbreviation (I didn't see one, my apologies if it's already been covered). I think the term is British. :)
