Joglinks1 -> Add supply (2/18/2010 2:01:48 PM)

With the new patch the add supply has changed to:
29. Made add supply button literal based, the unit will try to get only the amount listed.

from prior posts I read that the base is trying to accumulate the minimum required. In a second look it tries to accumulate 10 times the required rate.
once this is reached how does the add supply come into play?
for example:
required supply 1000
add supply set to 11000

in the first loop the base tries to get 1000 supply
in the second loop it will try to accumulate 10000 supply
in the third loop will it try to accumulate 11000 or 21000?

Thks
Joerg

I thought BigJ62 stated that bases would try to acquire 3x their requirements instead of 10.

BigJ62 -> RE: Add supply (2/18/2010 4:07:36 PM)

removed supply from 10 x loop now it is 3x in the first loop just like witp.

What does this mean? I don't understand the loops.

don't worry about it.

I'm not worried, but I'm somewhat concerned. Please teach me. [:)]

BigJ

thanks for your reply but how does this now affect the add supply setting?
in my example the base try to accumulate 3000 supplies.
My add supply setting is 11000. Does this mean the base will try to accumulate 11000 supply or 3000 plus 11000.
from my game I suspect it is 11000 but since this is critical to the Japanese player to expand the production facilities I would like to have this confirmed.

cheers
Joerg

The base will try and get and maintain 3 x whatever value is displayed in the supplies required field as denoted by 'B' in the pic below.

This value can be modified by several conditions.
1. If HQ of base is present at that base then add 25k, this addition is not displayed to the user.

2. Spoilage limit can not be exceeded when trying to pull supplies if add supply is not used. If a base has a spoilage limit then it is displayed in the base screen as denoted by 'C' in the pic below.

3. Max draw aka supply cap, you can only draw up to the amount indicated per day as denoted by 'A' in the pic below. In order to get this feature you have to start a new game after installing patch 2 as this was both a code and scenario update.

4. If base has no spoilage limit and a cargo tf is loading supplies then the unused capacity is divided by 3 and added to supplies required.

Any idea how come Sydney keeps drawing when set to nill and Brisbane set to infinity?

Read item 1 of bigJ62s explanation. There is most likely a Command HQ sitting in Sydney. And I doubt that Sydney has no supply requirement. The only way would be to move every Air unit, every LCU, and every ship out of Sydney and not bring any TFs into there for rearm.

BigJ62 -> RE: Add supply (2/19/2010 4:38:01 AM)

Any excess above what a base needs is moved to the largest port with the highest spoilage limit that is in range.

fflaguna -> RE: Add supply (2/19/2010 7:48:48 AM)

This is excellent. Thank you, BigJ!

Note that this requires the Japanese player to tweak the supply level in bases with expanding factories since this will deplete most of them below the 10K repair limit. This seems to be a change with Patch 3 (from Hotfix 3 ) where the supply would remain in a base above requirements as long as it was below the spoilage limit.

Not an issue, just a comment for beginning Japanese players [:)]

EDIT:

Deleted since I figured out what I was doing wrong [:)]
