DicedT -> Ta-152H in January 1944? (2/26/2010 6:52:22 PM)

It's late January '444 in our '43 campaign PBEM, and I have the Ta-152H. I had allocated enough research production for maybe 12 aircraft a day, starting sometime in November '43, I think.

We started our game last November, so maybe it was wasn't affected by the patches that were supposed to make German R&D harder. Still, I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed dazzling German research even after the patches?

I've just started receiving the Ta-152s, so I can't judge their effect on the game yet. Still, it won't be fun for the Allies to fly P-51Bs and Spitfire VIIs against them.

This problem was fixed in patch 1.02 dated 12-9-09.  I have not seen this problem in my tests of v1.02.

I suppose to play fair the German player could convert the TA-152 factories to something a bit more appropriate for the time frame.  You are certainly correct - the 152H's are real killers.

On the other hand, 12 aircraft a day equals about 360 across a month. The Ta152 becomes availiable normally in December 44, so 300 aircraft pr month would see the scheduled availiability date be pushed 3 months forward for every month of research. As you did around 3 months, you should have pushed the date forward at least 9 months, plus some leftover for the extra 60 aircraft pr month, right ?

standard reseach rate was 100 per month, Harley made it so it is scaled due to time, so, late war models could take up to 800 to make a move forward, the closer to the due date, the easier it is to advance the date, the farther away, the HARDer it is

also, don't forget, I was not able to get (yet) due dates on parts and engines, that is one of the "glitches in the system"

you can build late war engines and parts at the start of the game, where in fact, most of the planes were held back, waiting for the engine to be ready for use

(one reason you see some models going from DB to Jumo, back to DB again, when it was a Jumo that was intended from the beginning)

Hard Sarge, what we need to know is this:

Germany produced about 30 Ta-152H per day for roughly 3 months. Ta-152H are now in regular production as of late January 1944.

Is this a bug because our PBEM began before patch 1.02, and the new production system doesn't change existing games?

Or, is this a bug that continues even after patch 1.02.

Or this not not a bug but a feature of the game? In which case, the Luftwaffe can finish researching the Ta-152H (and probably other advanced German aircraft) by early 1944.

Hard Sarge -> RE: Ta-152H in January 1944? (2/28/2010 7:43:24 PM)

if the game was started before the patch, I would say the changes to the production system are not in place (it is using the Data it had when it started)

so the old bug that was in the game (issue with Factories, building stuff when they should of been on delay, and the way Reseach was done) is still in effect

How many turns did you run before 1.02? That's the key here.

The exec does not care what the data/savefile is. If you'd had those advanced fighters in production for one month @ 10 per day with the 1.00 version, then you've trimmed 3 months off the total. As research accellerates closer to the available date, he might have knoccked the hardest part off with the bug, and done the rest with the slower research rate.

I am trying to follow this some in a test

first you say you set up for about 12 a day, then later you say, you were getting 30 a day ?

my set up will take between 20-40 days to get the reseach started
