Hi all,

I just wondered, what was your experience in getting and holding Buna as the Empire in a 2 player game. I am positive that it could be captured in May/June but could it be hold for a long time after that?

Also, what operational advantages do you see from the Japanese viewpoint besides a forward scout base and denying the US a radar station?

PS: I know you read this, too Dan. :-) You are a toughie.

2 Operational advantages come to mind.
1. the beech next to it Durabora(sp?) has a level 6 airbase capacity (9 with oversupply)
2. Overland route to PM

However, holding it, suppling it and building it up versus a human opponent would be extremly difficult as it can be reached by 17's, 25's and 26's from Cooktown and Cairns not to mention PM. Given the range of Jap planes Lae is much easier to build up as a base until PM can be taken.

PS the reverse is also true for the US (Gili Gili is much the same but much easier as the US than IJN)
