sgreen -> video capturing (3/15/2010 11:48:18 PM)

Has anyone tried to capture video of a battle and maybe upload it online? If so, I'd like to put a vid on youtube and I was wondering if anyone has done this before or has tried this and what programs they used etc.

http://vonb.thewizard.org - a wee snippet of CC in action.

I use HyperCAM. Not free, but *very* good, with options to balance output (size v quality etc). There is a freeware program I have seen recommended by others, but have not tried it myself: http://camstudio.org/

What do you use Andrew?

I have tried camstudio with very ordinary results, so I never uploaded.

But that was with an older and less capable computer.

The vids I posted are made with Camtasia

To digress slightly, there are 3d landscape programs out there which would solve a lot of mapping problems if they didn't have similar price tags.

I have been giving Camstudio a whirl to see what it is like. Results are not top end but quite acceptable on the whole...
