Even though I most likely wont buy this game...I really hope it does well....infact I hope it becomes a massive hit....as it appears to be bringing alot of new members to the forum whichif the game is good they may take a look at other games here.....I.E Panther Game series....I urge all you newbies to take a good look at the Bulge game which is due out very soon....its THE best wargaming system out there....if your not into RTS like me...dont worry it plays like no other RTS game out there...certainly no click fest.

SO good luck to Distant Worlds...hope its a massive hit....hope you all enjoy the game and just take a look at some of the other games here especially the Bulge game.

How about a link to the game, wodin. [:D]

Agreed. My google search led to 'Battles from the Bulge' matrix games forum and 'Command Ops: Battles from the Bulge' Matrix Games site. Those must be it. I'll check it out.
Abbreviations and partial names of games when suggesting a game to new people are usually okay with a google search.

Where's the search feature on Matrix games site? Jeez.
(edit) Heh. Nevermind. The search feature is less noticeable than some other sites that have a search space/bar. It's a small word at the top.

Well, I looked at 'Command Ops: Battles from the Bulge'. It looks and sounds good for the type of game it is. My opinion is that it, like many of Matrix Games game titles, will not appeal to many gamers that prefer space 4X games, or to gamers that aren't into WW2 games using "card" icons instead of unit graphic icons.
But I might be stating the obvious.

I'm one of those types that prefer space 4X or games with better visuals on the map. If they did some work to make the visuals on the map better it might be more appealing to a larger group. Like, having an option to switch back and forth between those "card" icons on map to graphical unit icons. Also, if it doesn't have it, add some grahpical unit icon battle animations.
I agree that gameplay and strategy is important but to appeal to a larger group a game also needs nice artwork and visuals. Again, I might be stating the obvious.

http://www.matrixgames.com/products/377/details/Command.Ops:.Battles.from.the.Bulge.

Looks well done. Might not be for me 'cause I'm not that into ground based infantry type games.

Yeah Panther Games make great games, I played AA: Conquest of the Aegan, loved it.

Might get CO:Battles from the Bulge as well, though DW and other games will likely be consuming all my time.

Honestly dont be put off by the wargame styke of graphics...loads of immersion here...everyman is counted...weapons...ammo etc etc...
It is a real thrilling wargame...have alook at the AAR's.

Yeah should have put a link up....it is at the top of the coming soon section of the forum...see link in previous post...

If you fancy dipping your toe into a realistic..wargame with immersion and depth...then try this one...I back it 100%.

Reading the AARs or Check out either Conquest of the Agean their last game (the theatre of war maybe a little obscure to non ww2 buffs though) or the game before that Highway to the Reich (the famous bridge to far). I'd read the AAR's to get a feel...some reviews across the net aswell....

I understand that...fair enough...for this type of wargame the graphics are good...there is animation for firing units and airstrikes...again check an AAR. Honestly though the gameplay is fantastic...

Hope you all enjoy DW!

If one of you buys the Bulge I will buy DW hows that;)
