Baleur -> Spore done right. Well half of it. (3/26/2010 5:41:03 PM)

So i was just watching my empire and all the little ships fly about..
And i just got a huge Spore vibe, its a living galaxy. But its not a baby galaxy where you cant do anything. Its a living galaxy and an actual game too. [:D]
Its what Spore should have been in the galaxy stage.

100% agreed! =)

I really don't think that's a fair statement or comparison.[:)]

After all, there are things I could do in Spore that I can't do in Distant Worlds.[:'(]

I certainly agree that Spore should have been deeper in the galaxy stage, but comparing the two is pretty unfair.

Spore was 'alive' in another sense, in the sense that you could actually land on planets, implant new species etc all that sorta things.

And note, I only found Spore to be a 'decent' game, maybe 7/10 at most, so I'm not a big fan of it by any means, but I still feel the need to point out that the comparison is fairly illogical and unfair.

Did people actually play Spore more than once?

A turd of a game.

Let's keep the discussion on DW please, I don't want to get into bashing other games here.

Well, I've been playing it for a bit and the concepts and ideas behind it were rather nice. However, you had no way of making the game (or your species) look a bit more serious and it was basically just a compilation of mini-games.
I would have loved it if they would have emphasized on the strategic aspect. Would have done well with the whole "rise of a dominant species" kind of feeling.
