Warrior -> Allies vs. Russians (7/14/2002 6:16:28 PM)

May 1946, and the Russian army is on the move - towards the English Channel! :eek: Your orders are to stop their advance in your sector. Pick up Uncle Joe's Surprise at Tankhead's: http://www.tankhead.ca/SPWaW/warrior.html

The Russians could in no way have stood a chance to the allies, all the allies had to do was stop food shipments. . .And call up a few million pissed Germans for rearguard.

G_X -> (7/15/2002 2:07:31 PM)

I think that was a pretty biased statement, and to my knowledge, after the war the allies DID cut off food shipments, as they had done before the war, because the USSR was a Communist Dictatorship.

ZeroAntipop -> (7/15/2002 3:21:08 PM)

I thought we still gave them food, no longer planes or anything.

Not for long after the war ended then, Nato was formed, then the Warsaw pact, and the Iron Curtain came into being very quickly.

Whatever the historical case may have been, in Uncle Joe's Surprise the Reds stand a very good chance indeed. :)

Thank you!!
This scenario is wonderful!

I love how the terrain turns one large battle into a number of smaller encounters, and you get to choose how to deploy your troops against a number of threats...

I think I have the soviets on the run, but perhaps it's just their first wave :eek:

I'm glad you like it! :D Deployment is truly the key. Just in case you think it's too easy, I'm working on a more difficult version right now. :eek:

Food was delivered into 1946 by private NGOs. The British kindly donated the Nene engine, the latest Western turbojet design BTW, which Stalin gladly accepted. The Nene ended up in the MiG 15 series....
