I dont have the game, but I want to know about the techtree, what kind of technologies can you have?

Are there Fighters in the game? Or Bombers? or only Capital Ships? Can you make Carrier ships?
Can you destroy planets with a big enough bomb? Or turn stars into blackholes?

There is a way to destroy planets.

It's a Death Star - only destroys planets.

Here's the tech tree :

Some of those areas of research will give you different component though, e.g. Computers concerns Commerce Centers, Command Centers, Targeting Computers, while Habitation will unlock new colony modules, Living Support modules, etc.

No fighter, no bomber, no carriers... But you do have Capital Ships.

Ships can have nukes that bomb planets. Be very careful when nuking as almost everyone will hate you.
