I have installed the latest patch, but now I'm not seeing any messages in the scrolling message box. I have a saved game if you need it.

If you re-start the game and re-load the save, are the scrolling messages still off?

Reloading the saved game seems to have corrected the problem. Any ideas about the cause? The Galatopedia is working just fine, as are the pop up boxes.

The only other thing I have noticed is that the videos do not always play at startup - I get a blank screen. Clicking to continue goes to the menu without problems.

Not sure on the cause yet. Regarding the video, do you have the latest Windows Media Player 11 installed?

Yes, I have the latest Windows Media Player installed, and it is up to date - no updates outstanding. However, I have just found out that I have another IE8 update waiting.

Hi Erik, I'm also experiencing a lack of messages in the message box when I load a game.

I reload the game again, and then the messages are fine.

This only started happening yesterday strangely.

This was present in 1.01 version along side with arrow keys and mouse well being locked-up after rejecting "we can give you a special location coordinates" message from another empire (not pirates).

I`ve reported the last one but didn`t get any feedback on it. Both problems are gone when you reload the game (sometimes only after restarting the game).

Thanks for the tip, Okim, sorry I didn't see your earlier report.
