Nemo84 -> Supply Ships not deploying (3/30/2010 10:14:06 AM)

I've noticed a problem with supply ships not wanting to deploy correctly when low on fuel, instead overriding orders and heading to refuel at the nearest station. An example: I'm planning a long-range destroyer strike on a pirate base. I jump my destroyers and a supply ship to a suitable gas giant (with the correct fuel type) in a system at the edge of their range. The ships arrive in orbit very low on fuel. I then order the supply ship to deploy, to start my refuel op. However, after moving towards the gas giant for a few second, the ship breaks off and starts heading back towards my own systems to refuel. Of course, it runs out of fuel before being able to jump and is now useless. Any attempt to guide the ship towards the gas giant it is sitting on top of are useless, it just won't deploy. The supply ships deploy fine as long as they have plenty of fuel. But as soon as it runs low it seems the refuel algorithm simply keeps overriding the deployment command, causing the ship to become useless while it slowly crawls back to a far-off mining station. And I've seen several other players mention the same issues.
