Bearcat2 -> 1st Marine Provisional Brigade, 6th Marine div (4/4/2010 10:15:05 PM)

I was talking to my father in law about his unit in WW2, and how this game was accurate in depicting the units involved in Pacific war.
My problem is I can't find the units he was in, 1st Provisional brigade[assault on Guam] and the 6th Marine division, Presdential Unit citation for Okinawa with over 9,000 casualties with his company suffered 80%. His indivual regiment is listed, 22nd Marine regt, but I couldn't find the higher HQ's; any help?

1st Marine Provisional Brigade was formed by III Amphibious Corps on Guadalcanal on 04/19/44 with 4th and 22nd Marines as it's nucleus. The 305th RCT of the 77th Infantry Division was attached on 07/10/44. The Brigade was V Amphibious Corps floating reserve for the Saipan assault, and landed on Guam on 07/21/44. The 305th RCT was detached and returned to it's parent division on 07/24/44. The 29th Marines was assigned to the Brigade in late August, 1944, and the unit was reorganized and redesignated 6th Marine Division 0n 09/07/44.
