How do you stop the crash research program? I started a crash program and it completed and then immediately started a second crash program and I can't get it to stop.

Edit: Another question, what's the difference between Total Empire Potential, Maximum Potential and Actual Output?

Never herd of this before. I thought once you crash research something it stops once you discovered what you researched. I just did this in my game. Now you got me worried.

BigWolfChris -> RE: A question about research (4/5/2010 1:02:09 AM)

It has been reported in tech support previously and Elliot is looking into it

Thread for reference

I don't see it in the current fixlist for the next patch, so I presume it's still being looked into
So if you want to upload a savegame for Elliot to look at, it might be appreciated (if he hasn't yet located the problem)

Deomrve -> RE: A question about research (4/5/2010 2:33:55 AM)

I have uploaded a save game file with the stuck Crash Research bug. It's called Stuck crash research.dwg. In this save game file I started a crash research program and it's now stuck. Unfortunately this is the third straight game I had to quit because of a bug. First one I put in several hours only to find out that none of my personal designs for the private sector were being built. Got around it, sorta by upgrading the private sector ships and letting the computer name them. Next was the bug I encountered when loading my own ship designs and because there was tech I hadn't researched yet the designs wouldn't show up in the construction window. So I started a new game today, I left all the private sector ships alone and designed only ships that I can build. After playing several hours I get this research bug and it basically ends my game, I can't research anything else. So to make a long story short I'm calling it quits on this game. I have spent close to 40 hours playing it (first 20 learning it, which I don't mind) only to have start over after playing several hours into a game only to have it end because of some bug. I am going to keep an eye on this game because I really like it, but I cannot play it in it's current state and I can't recommend this game to anybody else in it's current state. I've spent a lot of time learning the game and I'm tired of figuring out ways to get around the bugs.

I am hoping this game turns out like SEIV, where a patch or two turns it into a playable game and then additional patches and mods only improve it.
