Central Blue -> What was an USMC Air Regulating Squadron? (4/6/2010 1:28:44 PM)

My dad served with ARS 3 and 4 at San Diego after duty in the Solomons. Anyone have any idea what the purpose of an Air Regulating Squadron was? No concrete info on the web that I can find with google. Based on his sea stories, it might be that his job was to get pilots out of jail in Tijuana. But maybe he got that job on account of his Spanish. [:D]

I know my dad was an intel officer with MAG14 in the Solomons, and was scheduled for similar in one of the Operation Downfall landings.

Took a bit, but here:

Air Regulating Squadrons were the units that processed personnel to and from overseas.

A fuller story about Mirmar can be found here
