Kaakao -> (7/31/2002 5:03:13 PM)

The file would be nice :)

Kaakao -> (8/2/2002 3:20:57 AM)

Go Airborne !

2 stugs, 2 mg42's, 2 rifle squads, 105mm hovizer and 2 ss squads say byebye with small losses. Grave is secured now.

XXX corps moved closer to Veghal and one Stuart spotted a Marder, after support from several tanks marder said boom :)
Couple of AC's found atleast one flak. This flag was most likely the same that shot down one of our gliders. Field court-martial was quick :)

Hades really has some great snipers, my respects for that move. My whole defence system east from the bridge got wiped out :eek:

At the end of turn C47's came down dropping more troops, but wait ! They dropped them on the wrong side of the river so they can't help in Arnhem and there's no v-hex even near them :(

I'm also a bit worried that I haven't faced any tanks bigger than Pz-IV, there's got to be some big cats around here somewhere.

Hades -> (8/3/2002 11:26:46 AM)

Henry isn't this tea great? "Yes sir, some of the best." Then a rifle cracks, and a bullet impacts into the back of the British commander's aid. Then RRRRWWPP!!! A MG42 sprays some near by trucks. The rest of the British HQ hurriedly jumped into some ditches while a rifle squad returned fire.
:D :D :D :D
Lets see how you fight after you lose your HQ!!

In Arnhem they AB squads are being forced back to the south west. Some big tanks just joined the battle!! I mean BIG!! 8cm mortar tracks are the heros of the day. One cause three AB squads to retreat. Things are looking up for the Nazis.

Near Vehgal I spotted some M4s and CS tank advancing.

Other than that, it was a quite turn.

DerC -> (8/4/2002 7:32:55 PM)

I'm really enjoying this. Keep it up guys! :D

Kaakao -> (8/4/2002 7:45:53 PM)

Hades revealed a nice suprise, but luckily there were troops near and no damage was done (except to 3 german rifle squads and one crusader aa) Also, you weren't shooting at my HQ, it was Platoon HQ, not quite the same :D

My tanks made a bold move into Veghal and it worked, about half of the town is now under my control and hopefully only few rifle squads are still blocking my way. Also, few AC's found an ammo carrier, big boom :)

One truck got wasted near Grave and troops are closing in the gap between Grave and XXX corps. One rifle squads dies in Njimigen, one stug dies in Groosbeek (Hades got the v-hex in town with two stugs but the situation should be taken care of within the next few turns).

Arnhem is not a nice place. Tigers, halftracks, panthers, trucks, spa's, everything moving against my airborne, nice challenge against PIATs. Somebody give me a bazooka and I'll kill every last one of you :mad:

Typhoon hit one Mortar track and the other typhoon missed all of his rockets when attacking a halftrack.

I'm also hoping that I'll arrive to Njimigen without any fight after Veghal, that would give the airborne in Arnhem better chance to survive.

Hades -> (8/5/2002 9:21:24 AM)

Crap!! Oh well. I really wish I had gotta your HQ, but oh well.
The only action happened in Arnhem one Tiger and a SS squad chased some AB out of the way.
Veghal will not hold out much longer, but I still have a firm grasp on Njimigen.
files on the way

Kaakao -> (8/6/2002 4:38:51 PM)

Hades, could you re-send the files, somewhy I can't download them.

Hades -> (8/7/2002 10:30:33 AM)

np on the way

Kaakao -> (8/9/2002 12:56:14 AM)

Now things are looking nice. Veghal is cleared and tanks are heading towards Njimigen, which still isn't cleared. Few AC's shot at two 12cm mortars killing the other squad. One of my mobile grills got stuck so I can't start barbequeing yet :)

Airborne retook the v-hex in Groosbeek but the other stug has vanished somewhere, hopefully we can relocate it during the next turns. Arnhem is still a mess, I don't have control of the northern end of the bridge so there can be anything heading southwards. A group of crewmen revenged by destroying a Tiger, sweet :) Another Pz-IIIn is also gone.

Hades -> (8/11/2002 2:39:23 PM)

well i did a nice big report but i got disconnected and im too lazy to rewrie it.
I own Arnhem and am still holding on to Njimigen.

more detailed report next turn i promise

Kaakao -> (8/11/2002 6:06:27 PM)

Allthough my grills are still on the move to the front, troops in Arnhem decided the want some barbeque :) One engineer squad flambed Spec Ops squad and Pz-IV. I have lost the control of the bridge but I'm still holding and the west of the town.

The missing stug was located, first squad failed to get near enough, second got also spotted but rallied and put bazooka round straight to the target :)

Quiet elsewhere, two or three turns and xxx corps should be in Njimigen.

Hades -> (8/11/2002 7:31:17 PM)

Arnhem:
Moving west! I killed about 4 squads of AB. I lost a squad of SS to one volley of enfield rifles:mad: :mad: :mad: plus two HTs

Kaakao -> (8/11/2002 9:06:09 PM)

XXX corps is now just outside Njimigen and moving northwards. Airborne cleared one bridge on the edge of the map with help of smoke and shermans, few casualties.

Then there's Arnhem, got one ht there, nothing major. The area of Arnhem is just hell, streets are full of dead german tanks and halftracks and I keep losing 2-3+ squads a turn :( But its hard for Hades too :mad: :mad:

Again, typhoons dived from the clouds, this time they spotted an armored convoy in Arnhem, two Konigstigers, ammo carrier and two Wespes, Wespes don't exist anymore :D I hope I have turned Hades arty down alot, two 12cm mortars, few mortar-halftracks and two wespes should feel somewhere.

Hades -> (8/12/2002 2:33:20 AM)

Arnhem:

Two King Tigers move slowly through the smoke firing at the cowering British Airborne, then the lead tanks commander see a man stand up from a impact crater. The commander swings his mg at the man, but before he can fire, the AB troop lifts a tube up to his sholder... WHOOOOSHHHHH!!!! The German commander shouts to the driver to move but the PIAT shell hits the tank right here the turret meets the hull. The shell smacks through the armor before exploding. None of the crew survived.
Seeing what happened, the remaining King Tiger called for some help and two Tigers Crashed through the buildings behind the AB squad, the same PIAT man fired again hitting one of the tanks in the tread, but he missed the other. The two Tigers poured 88 rounds into the small office until it burst into flames, causing the AB squad to run out into the street which happened to put them in a cross fire between the other King Tiger and a SS squad. When the 88s and mgs stopped fire the Tigers had been avenged.

Other than that I killed more AB in the southwest part of town.

Yes I am losing alot of men but I keep getting a platoon of SS each turn, so you need to pick up the pace.:D

Belisarius -> (8/12/2002 2:44:34 AM)

Shouldn't a PIAT be making more of a "sproooingg-- thump" kind of sound? :p Methinks the King's Airbornes have "borrowed" some equipment from their Yankee brethren. :D

Hades -> (8/12/2002 2:46:39 AM)

You might not believe this but when i wrote this i said to myself, I bet someone says something, and low and behold....:D

Kaakao -> (8/12/2002 3:13:46 PM)

"James, could you hand me that flamethrower please"
"Oh surtainly, why do you need it sir?"
"You see that building ? I believe there might be a bloody Tiger"
*WOOOOSSSHHHHH*
"And now where's that tee ?"
"Coming right up sir"
:D :D :D :D

For picking up the pace, I'm doing my best, Panther, couple of halftracks and few ss said boom :) It seems that you have moved past Arnhem to Oosterbeek (or whatever it is, west to Arnhem anyway). I spotted a halftrack there and made the ss-squad running away. South of Njimigen is now under my control and I'm moving towards the bridge. One of my Airborne squads spotted a strange looking boat on the river, after few hails of bullets the boat disappeared, wonder what happened to that ? :D

M4Jess, you should take a screenshot from Arnhem, it's a hell of a mess.

Hades -> (8/14/2002 12:19:32 PM)

I will miss those tigers. :(

Another slow turn. Killed some AB in Arnhem, and I ran into some Polish AB west of Arnhem. Lots of troops ready to greet the XXX corps.

Kaakao -> (8/14/2002 9:47:06 PM)

Nothing major this turn, killed some ss in Oosterbeek, some specs ops, ss and halftracks in Arnhem. Airborne seems to hold on pretty well allthough every v-hex in Arnhem is lost. XXX corps and Airborne killed some specs ops and ss in Njimigen. Also one halftrack and one armored car with 7.5cm gun got wiped out. Several trucks carrying ss spotted north of Njimigen. The town itself is under my control but the bridge is under German control, more tanks and troops and the bridge will be mine. Typhoons again dived and this time strafed an Ammo carrier, also few Panthers, another Konigstiger :eek: and infantry were spotted in Arnhem. Rockets seem to be low on ammo so the planes aren't so usefull anymore :(

M4Jess -> (8/15/2002 4:57:36 AM)

Battle looks great! here are some shots..

German eyes only!!!!

M4Jess -> (8/15/2002 4:59:07 AM)

Allied eyes only!!!

M4Jess -> (8/15/2002 5:00:20 AM)

Allied eyes only!!!!!

Hades -> (8/17/2002 10:14:57 AM)

I keep trying to get the file but Ive had a lot of rain in the past few days and my connection sucks when it rains so it takes like 15 minutes to download so give like two more days

Hades -> (8/19/2002 8:07:16 PM)

Shermans and Fireflys!!! Oh my!!! Njimegen is being overran by the XXX, but they are still a very long ways away from Arnhem. And when they get there, there will be hell to pay.

Kaakao -> (8/20/2002 2:22:39 AM)

The file seems to be missing...

Hades -> (8/20/2002 8:18:11 AM)

Yesyes, I had to get off before I could send them, but you'll have them tonight.

Kaakao -> (8/20/2002 9:16:21 PM)

A SS-man is hiding in a building
*Heinz, was ist dass ?*
*Was meinst du ? Ich sehe nichts weil es so dunkel ist... warten sie, was ist das licht....*
*WOOOOOOSSSSHHHH*
One ss squad burned at the spot and the other runs...
*Heinz, teufel das war ein flammanlagen!*
*Ja, scheiss....*
*PRRRRRRRR*
The remaining squad is gunned down with Stens

Otherwere....

*Hans, gehört du dass ?*
*Was, ich habe nicht gehört*
The german commander turns his cupola around...
*TEUFEL!! ES GIBT EIN PIAT IN DER HAUSE LINKS VON HIER!!!*
*SPROOOOOINGG -- THUMP (thx Belisarius :))*
The round hits the hull and the tanks stops when it's engine brakes.
*FEUER HENDRICH !!!*
The rounds from 88mm gun and mg's do their job and airborne pulls back after taking some casualties.

Few buildings away....

*Ach, die britische schweine, es gibt nicht jetzt tot*
*Ja, gut das wir nicht mittel die Hause sind*
A quiet click is heared
*Was war da....*
*WOOOOOOOSSSHHH*
The flame hits the tank burning the tracks apart
*DIE SCHWEINE, FEUER!!!!*
The gunner fires ones and when reloading a sounds are heard from the back of the tank...
*BOOOOM*
No more that tank :)

Bet you didn't except this, airborne in Arnhem is attacking :) A Konigstiger immobilized, a Panther destroyed, two ss squads destroyed :)

Very very good turn :)

In Eindhoven XXX corps captured the first v-hex on the bridge with a loss of one cs-tank and one damaged Stuart. An AT-bunker was spotted which hit the cs-tank. Some infantry run away, couple of mg's and a panzerfaust squad got wiped out in Eindhoven with the truck that carried them. One Jpz was taken care of on the bridge when it was shooting that Stuart and exposed it's side. Also one mortar-halftrack was destroyed.

BTW. My deutsch isn't so good so there's some typos :)

Hades -> (8/25/2002 11:21:53 AM)

Sorry about the wait. I kinda got caught up in school starting.

Not looking good. I killed more AB in Arnhem. Started sending troops south.

Kaakao -> turn 16 (8/25/2002 5:04:53 PM)

XXX corps is on the move, the Njimigen bridge is under my control, allthough there are atleast few german squads just next to the bridge. Killed a Stug, a truck, shot a ss-squad and then shot at few other squads which ran away. Hades is bombarding the bridges quite heavily but that doesn't bother me. From the information the planes gathered, there shouldn't be alot more heavier German tanks.

The only are which still is just in the hands of Airborne is Arnhem and Groosbeek. At Arnhem shot a specs ops squad, nothing big. No sign of enemy movement in Groosbeek.

Hades -> (8/26/2002 7:36:04 AM)

Some brave SS men jumped the stone wall they were hiding behind and fired a Panerschek at a Sherman V from a few yards away.
That was about the only good thing that happened.
I had a Tiger advance into an intersection and survive an assult from a buildng. I pulled it away from the building rigt into another attack. It survive. It survived one more assualt before dying. porr brave Tiger. :( :( :(

ill send the files in a sec
