Musashi -> WWII campaign Assaults? (11/23/2000 2:29:00 AM)

Wow Great game!
I'm having problems with the WWII Long Campaign. I've tried several times to start and get roughly the same treatment each time. I start as Germany in May 1940, obviously going into France. Each time I've started I'm given an assault mission. I buy up my core and add-ons and hop to it. After a couple futile efforts where I was virtually overrun buy French Somuas I started a new game and surrendered immediately to see what the French were getting. I estimate that the French force I was up against was worth at LEAST double my own (he had double the tanks at a higher buy cost each). Each game I would take a victory hex and a hoarde of Somua's would wash over my force. Same with the Brits (but at least you can kill their tanks, Pulled a draw out of that one). I figured out how to get the French to buy something other than Somuas by fudging the OB. But why the HUGE Force edge? When I set the same correlation of forces in the battle generator the Attacker (German) gets from 2.5 to nearly three times the buy points. In the campaign the DEFENDER is gettting about the same advantage. Is this some feature in the generator that occasionally reverses the buy points (something like this WAS in SPII, Where a meating engagement could turn into a delay because one side got double points). Is this some special date/place specific event. I need to save one of these and edit it to see the exact correlation of buy points. But while I'm doing that does anyone have an explanation?
