Do you have a lot of surface ships in the Home Islands dedicated for defense or are you trusting in airpower alone?

Hello CarnageINC,

This is my surface deployment in the Home Islands, mainly ASW assets, anti surface threat trust on my G4M1/B5N2 Daitais.

CVE Hosho, like flag ship of Metropolitan ASW Command, with her old B4Y1 flying ASW missions at low altitude near High Value Convoys from Hokkaido to Honshu.
7 Destroyers like leaders of Hunter Killer Groups.
19 Subchassers mainly in the Hunter Killer Groups with DDs.
7 Escorts, 3 of them escorting HIJMS Hosho, 4 others escorting long range convoys from P.Arthur to Osaka or Tokyo.
2 PC, like E ships, escorting long range convoys.
57 PBs escorting convoys or patrolling high threat areas.
1 AMC like pickett ship in northern waters.

In Norther Waters, 5th Fleet have 2 submarines RO-Type for coastal operations.

Rest of ships, auxiliars and cargoes.

12nd Air Flotilla have deployed G4M1s and H6K4 on Bihoro to cover the northern approaches (high threat of enemy intruders). HQ from 12nd Flotilla at Ominato. All short range FP and dive bombers at ASW patrol in the transit area of the convoys.

When Fubukis Is will be upgrade at January 1941, 4 of them will reinforce Metropolitan Fleet (they will upgrade their ASW capabilities from 0 to 4).

Thanks for the question and your interest.
Best of wishes.
Ramón
