ORIGINAL: Raengrey As the subject says, I'm loving the game the more I discover about it, but: I really find the UI unintuitive and that it needlessly increases the learning curve. By haunting this forum I've discovered numerous things you can do which I didn't think you could. Which actually points to another flaw: the documentation could be a lot better. For example there's no explanation (that I could find) of the colony window on the main map. Took me a while to figure out what the little notes meant, as an example. Secondly, I'm sorry, but I really dislike the music. I find it overly dissonant and intrusive. For a space game, I want wafting background music, not music that constantly sounds like there's a battle going on. Just an IMO. Otherwise, the game is great. I agree with the music part. It's good music but completely out of place. I used to turn the music off because in my opinion the original music totally kills the mood. Now I use my own. Anyway, maybe they first wanted to include dynamic music but later decided not to. If you want you can use your own music. Go to the Distant Worlds main folder, then go to the customization folder. In there create a new folder with any name you want. Inside that new folder create a folder called Music. Put .mp3 files inside the music folder, it doesn't matter what name the .mp3 files got. Start up your game and launch the new mod you've just created through the main menu. During the game it will randomly pick a .mp3 file and play it. Go to this page and download the customization guide if you need more info about creating mods.
