Maniac -> Air Combat Bug? (7/23/2002 3:46:40 PM)

Alright here is the situation...there are kind of 2 parts to this post so I go ahead with the actual bug that I have found...I am playing the summer of 43' scenario as the US

the IJN did an airstrike against Lunga and here is my combat report:

Air attack on Lunga , at 38,40

Japanese aircraft
A6M3 Zero x 38
D3A Val x 3

Allied aircraft
F4U-1 Corsair x 14
P-39D Airacobra x 42
P-38G Lightning x 48

Japanese aircraft losses
A6M3 Zero x 52 destroyed
D3A Val x 3 destroyed

Allied aircraft losses
F4U-1 Corsair x 1 damaged
P-39D Airacobra x 1 damaged

FO O.Calloway of VMF-212 is credited with kill number 4

LCDR S.Doigawa of F1/204th Daitai is KILLED
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

-Now if you look closely the IJN sent only 38 zeros but they lost 52...thats the bug I am talkin' about...

now the second part of this is...isn't it kind of odd that I shot down all of their planes and that I only came out of that air battle with 2 planes damaged? I mean maybe I just had a freak thing happen but wow my guys did good :D

Maniac,

;) If you have "Fog Of War" on this happens with all combat reports. X number of pilots engage Y number of planes and claim Y number of kills and Z number damaged. Sometimes when all aircraft are shotdown there are more kills claimed that there were aircraft. This can happen with damaged aircraft too.

:) BTW After WWII quite a few of pilots and some submarine commanders had some of thier kills taken away (a few got more kills) because axis records showed they didn't happen.
