KG Erwin -> Playability vs information (7/31/2002 7:59:11 AM)

This was ALWAYS the shortcomings of James Dunnigan games. I WISH this guy had interest in designing PC games. Historical accuracy was ALWAYS paramount in Jim's games, and they're rightly regarded as classics, but given the complexities of the rules (remember War in the East circa 1974? I HAVE that, and others), they're REALLY intended (IMO) to represent the situation at given periods of the War In The East, NOT to necessarily PLAY them. Regard these games as graphic aids to display different periods of the war, NOT as playable , and you get the idea. They are historical tools, and nothing more.
