JosEPhII -> Thank you (5/7/2010 1:33:17 AM)

This thread is to say Publicly to Elliotg, THANK YOU!

Also to say a Thank You to Erik.

It's been a while since I've had this much fun with a Space 4X game.

And while it's true there are "bugs" yet to squash, this is a playable and enjoyable game.

So Again, THANK YOU for making this game and for publishing it.

JosEPh [:D]

taltamir -> RE: Thank you (5/7/2010 9:46:34 AM)

Three cheers for codeforce!

Indeed it has been a while since I had this fun in a game.

Bartje -> RE: Thank you (5/7/2010 11:21:24 AM)

***Signed***

Keep up the good work!

DW is a real gem in the rough! [:)]

Rustyallan -> RE: Thank you (5/7/2010 4:28:21 PM)

I'll just say that it's been quite a few years since I was interested enough in a game to post this much. You guys are doing a great job with it. And the community here is pretty good as well. [:D]

exelsiar -> RE: Thank you (5/7/2010 8:42:59 PM)

-thumbs up- cheers guys, my social life's even worse than normal now ;)

HsojVvad -> RE: Thank you (5/7/2010 9:23:47 PM)

I say thank you as well. Joseph is correct, it's been a long time I had this much fun playing a 4X space game.

Fishman -> RE: Thank you (5/8/2010 5:59:47 AM)

I wouldn't thank until you reach the late game and hit the Irreversible, Unstoppable, Uncontrollable Corruption Creep. Everything looks good until then, but once corruption passes 50%, things start to go downhill fast. It's unplayable this way. Catch you all in a few months or so, I'll see if things have improved by then. Or if they've gotten worse.

I did reach the end game, I conquered the entire galaxy.

I think you posted this in the wrong thread. anyways, upload that one.

Kruos -> RE: Thank you (5/8/2010 11:37:48 AM)

Thank you Matrix & CodeForce!

This game has a huge potential, keep up the good work!

You've posted this in at least three threads. I'm sorry you experienced this, but it also didn't happen in my late game testing, so I think that the most helpful thing you could do is upload a save file. As I posted elsewhere, corruption is about diminishing returns and it has a cap by design, so what you describe is not what's intended or what others have seen in their late game testing.

To everyone else, thank you for the thank yous! I'll make sure Elliot sees this thread too.

Regards,

- Erik

JosEPhII -> RE: Thank you (5/11/2010 11:47:54 PM)

I'm raising this thread back to the 1st page.

And I am encouraging Everyone that even slightly likes the Game to say so.

Let Elliotg and Erik know that we DO appreciate their efforts. Lets be honest, the game is still developing and there are still "Bumps" in the Road. But what other Space 4X has caused such a stir as DW has lately?

Again, Thank You Elliotg for your Dream child. And Thank you Erik for Publishing it.

JosEPh

taltamir -> RE: Thank you (5/12/2010 12:00:06 AM)

Agreed, and as this is a thank you thread, lets keep complaints, bug reports, and feature requests out of it please? there are various specific threads/subforums for those to go at. No need to threadcrap.

cobra13 -> RE: Thank you (5/12/2010 12:53:51 AM)

Another thank you from a bashful lurker

Astorax -> RE: Thank you (5/12/2010 1:19:25 AM)

I would echo the sentiments of most here: Thank you, Elliot and Erik, for creating this great game and, also, for your continued dedication to tweaking and fixing issues. Most of us really do appreciate all of your hard work and just want to encourage you.

frugaldude -> RE: Thank you (5/12/2010 1:37:06 AM)

This game has been far more enjoyable than most of the games I have tried the past several years.  Thank you for all your efforts.

mim_uk -> RE: Thank you (5/12/2010 3:32:03 AM)

I will also add to what has been said - DW is a great game and one of the best game purchases i have ever made. Bought it after reading some nice reviews about it, and especially the fact that it is well supported by Codeforce & Matrix Games, through patches, new content and feedback to customers. Thanks Elliot & Erik!

Sure, DW could do with a little polishing here and there, but i really think for a first release it has got a lot of things that i like in a Space 4X game right straight off.

This is one game i will definately play for a long time to come and if any expansion packs or new DW titles come out, i will buy them too! [:)]

lordxorn -> RE: Thank you (5/12/2010 3:44:39 AM)

Yes I definitely throw my hat in for a resounding "Thank You", this genre that we all so much love has really gotten a rare gem and big boost. It will go a long way in bringing new PC gamers into the 4x market and thus possibly inspire future developers to pay more attention to this much starved segment.

Spacecadet -> RE: Thank you (5/12/2010 4:07:51 AM)

I agree - Thanks.

A good game and great support in improving it [:)]

lancer -> RE: Thank you (5/12/2010 9:17:07 AM)

Goodaye,

A big thank you from me as well. I especially appreciate all the support, attention and hard work that is being shown by Eric and Elliot.

Great game. Great fun.

Look forward to any future expansions.

Cheers,
Lancer

Webbco -> RE: Thank you (5/12/2010 2:56:52 PM)

Yup, want to also say thanks for all your (ongoing) efforts and helpfulness. Been spreading the word about DW!

Keep going guys, there is still so much MORE potential to this game.

Dadekster -> RE: Thank you (5/12/2010 5:03:05 PM)

A thank you from me as well. This is one of the more orginal 4X games I have seen in a long time and while there is lots of stuff yet to be done to make it a classic, it looks like the foundation has been solidly set thanks to the continuing hard work of these two guys. I will always give up my hard earned cash to people like that over some faceless company which treats you like a number.

Kudos and thanks to both of you.

Stardog -> RE: Thank you!! (5/12/2010 7:17:30 PM)

I'll chime in here also!!!

I would like to thank Matrix & Code Force for there fine work!!!

I haven't had this much fun with a 4x space game since MOO1 .

AS of right now DW has 17872 Posts looks like it's pretty popular with the crowd!!

Keep the Patches & I hope even if I have to $$ them Add On's coming.

P.S. Been playing so much The Wifey Poo has hidden my wireless mouse!!! << No _ _ it! LOL

AMF -> RE: Thank you (5/12/2010 7:29:32 PM)

Absolutely! Great game! Money well spent, no doubt in my mind. I look forward to years of playing it.

HsojVvad -> RE: Thank you (5/12/2010 9:18:43 PM)

Well I said thank you for the game, but I also would like to say thank you for the support as well. When I had troubles getting the game, Eric did his best to help me and others. I would also like to say thanks to Elliot as well for the hard work he is doing with the patches out as well.

martok -> RE: Thank you (5/13/2010 8:52:35 AM)

I'll happily jump on the bandwagon and join the others on this thread in saying a great big "Thank you!" to Matrix & CodeForce (and Erik and Elliot, specifically) for your work on this game. [8D]

While I've not yet been able to play Distant Worlds as extensively as I'd like (real life drastically cuts down on my playing time periodically), I do have to say I've been having a marvelous time in the precious few hours in which I do get to play it. For as much as I'm not an RTS fan (admittedly, I still with the game were turn-based), this game has been an absolute blast so far.

Truly, I don't think there's another space 4x title out there like this one; both developer and publisher should be very proud of what they've done thus far. I look forward to future updates....and gods willing, future expansions and/or sequels as well. [:)]

Mysterius -> RE: Thank you (5/13/2010 10:07:09 AM)

I agree with Devor. The game is awesome, but the support of Matrix/Codeforce is even more.
Cheers, and i hope you're planning an expansion!
Long live Distant Worlds [&o]

thiosk -> RE: Thank you (5/13/2010 9:20:08 PM)

A little more sexup time and an expansion, and we could be looking at the first serious 4x-space advance since master of orion 2.

And if the developers don't realize the astounding level of praise I just lavished on you, I don't know what else to say!!!

NOTHING has come close since then.

Totally agreed.

Thank you for this game and its awesome support & improvment!
