Rustyallan -> 1.0.4.5 construction ships stuck in retrofit for a decade (5/8/2010 2:21:30 AM)

I'm uploading a savegame with most of my original construction ships stuck in a queue on my homeworld (VW791). This is a fresh game created after installing 1.0.4.5. The first thing I did in the game was to retrofit a construction ship. I have retrofit a few others here and there as well. This time, I mass-selected them from the construction yard screen and told them to retrofit. They then *all* went to my homeworld to retrofit and have been stuck at the same point for the last 10 or so game years. I've since produced a new fleet of CS and they're working well.

So I cleared the stuck CS and moved the colony and spaceport retrofit to the top of the queue.  The colony ship completed and left, but the spaceport is now stuck.

insufficient resources coming into your base? go to the expansion planner and sort the top box by 'your demand' if and of the numbers are way over your stock supply, then you have a major deficit. alternatively look in the base itself and see what resources are reserved, if theres more reserved than is available, production seems to shut down.

I had a similar problem at a remote base. In the end I had to look at the individual components it was trying to fix and the materials it was wanting. In my instance I had materials in other places around the empire but not at the base that needed them. It took forever but eventually the freighters arrived and construction was completed.

Perhaps some sort of report on a base by base, planet by planet basis of what resources are needed for the current queue against what are in stock would be helpful. Perhaps even an ETA of shipments would give an idea if any are on the way.

I checked and as best I could determine, this was not the case. Empire-wide, I was definitely well overstocked. On the base, if there was something that I missed, it should have been delivered by a freighter sometime within that ten years.

If there is a deficiency, it needs to be highlighted so it's not missed. I compared as best I could and did not see anything. Having to open/close the windows to compare lists is a royal pain though so I might have missed something. Regardless, it still shouldn't take over 10 years to deliver materials. Especially when I can place an order for a new constructor and have it built at the next planet over... or have a fleet built at the orbiting spaceport.

I'm really thinking the issue is that the retrofit design was obsoleted (and maybe deleted) before or during the retrofit. I could be wrong though.

I had this happen too. I finally tried to scrap them on the spot, but they still showed up as if in retrofit. Finally I just decided to build replacements and ignore the "stuck" ones...

To scrap the ones stuck in retrofit, you need to scrap them in the planet's construction yard screen.  you'll get back some cash if you do that for the ones in the queue, but nothing for the one in the yard.
