maybe i'm really blind about this but is there a way to reassign the screenshot shortcut key to something else?

ah yes... same problem.. more often than not I hit 0 and do a screenshot when not wanting doing so!

It should be assigned to the Print Screen button IMHO.

Psshhh. Why on Earth should the screen printing function be assigned to the "Print Screen" key?

Apparently, people decline to make Print Screen the actual print screen key because it involves somewhat more work to trap it, as Windoze already uses it, so they take the lazy way out.
