Finland - Soviet Union Meeting engagement July 1944 6000 points No mines or strike aircraft, max. 10% of total points to arty. Large map, visibility is less than ten. The battle thread for part one is in the Opponents wanted subforum. After a hard winter of fighting the two commanders face each other once again. The Soviet summer offensive to Finland is at its peak in July and both armies are looking to improve their situation on the Karelian isthmus. This means nothing more or less than a battle! Kez is once again the Russians and I'm playing the Finns. The map has some rivers on the Finnish side and there is a dense forest in the northern part. The southern area is a bit more open. I will get some screenshots of the map at the deploy phase. (Well if I'll remember to take them) I just sent the files to Kez and we will be starting this shortly.

Once again I am called into service to fight against capitalist pigs trying to disturb our peace. Fate seems to have a sense of humour as I am facing my old nemesis from last summer: DerClown. :mad: Today will be avenged the blood of many brave men. We'll have our vengeance when I selfhandedly execute you and your cowardly hq staff.

Oh well.. I hardly have the words to fight back to that propaganda. :rolleyes: Enough talking, we'll settle this out on the field. :) Turn one coming up, here's the map. Edit - This is only the center area of the map where most action will likely take place.

Turn one is over, there are no sightings of the Russians. Their artillery got three kills. The Finns paid back with some counter battery fire at those 152s. Some firing from 82mm mortars as well. I see here's a change from the old "203s and 120mm mortars" pattern. :p

Turn one over. The glorious Red Army sneaks forward silently. My scouts had minor firefights around the map. Finns got lucky with 4 kills without suffering any casualties themselves. I see a stug... anotherone... and couple more...:eek:
