Catch21 -> Road to Rimini 1944 (5/11/2010 1:22:59 PM)

Looking for an opponent for Road to Rimini 1944.

This is a game I started over at Road to Rimini 1944- Allied Turn 1 but opponent never replied to Turn 1 with me as Allies. So I just played a Turn 1 and it was just left hanging. Perfectly serviceable and 'green field' game for anyone with a few advantages for anyone who wants to pick it up as Germany:

1) This was envisaged as an AAR with me playing Allies, to complement the one I played against 'Elmer' (PO) with me playing as Germany- see General Staff vs. Elmer (Road to Rimini 1944) which provides a winning German approach (at least versus Elmer who I thought pretty good).
2) Given my Turn 1 was posted as an AAR, if you download the ZIP file you will get to see my Allied Turn 1 and dispositions through the various combat rounds and at turn end. This is not as big a handicap for anyone as it sounds, given size of map and fairly obvious Allied objectives.
3) There's also a lot of peripheral posts on S&T related to this particular AAR that may be of interest, so it can work as something of a 'live' tutorial.

If anyone wants to try this download the ZIP in the link above that contains my turn 1 if you want to see it- round by round. Then let me know and I'll send a PBL (PBEM) file generated off the last round to start a Germany Turn 1- put in a password and you're off. Turn every day or two or I'll let you know of any delays, and at c10 turns should take c2 weeks.

I can do this on-ladder or off-ladder- your choice. If on-ladder I'm happy enough to mirror and reverse sides and play a 2nd game with me as Germany (again). If off-ladder just one game with me as Allies.

Please let me know if interested and whether on/off-ladder and if so which ones- I'm registered at Gamesquad, The Blitz and Rugged Defense.

If you haven't secured an opponent, I'll play you.

You have mail. If you still want to go ahead, we just need to confirm a few parameters- FOW is on, the ASS, SitRep, High Supply, Movies are off, everything else on Advanced Game Options is on.

Plus on/off ladder- your choice, and if on which ones and whether you want this to be a 'mirror' game.

Best,

GS

Off-ladder. Am happy with all those options as mentioned.

Cheers,

K

GS

Will you be posting this game as an AAR ? and if so, where/when ?

I'm a big fan of your previous how-to AARs on R2R and TWIN and think this view will be interesting. And it will be interesting to see if you can win as Allied.

Sorry that I dropped in here too late and missed your LFO.

Good luck to both.

Ogar

Yes I suppose, time willing and since I started one already at WHQ/GS. I'll move what I started over (Allied Turn 1) and continue.

I notice there's an AAR Section here, so makes sense it would seem to drop it there.

Thanks for the good luck. I'll need it in my new position of Traffic Manager, forget General...
