Hey im down for some WAW 5T. Im not that experienced but want to learn. I would love to have 4-5 players. Anyone interested?

RufusTFirefly -> RE: WAW 5T (5/17/2010 7:28:14 AM)

Have sent a PM.

Regards Rufus T Firefly

82ndtrooper -> RE: WAW 5T (5/17/2010 10:05:34 AM)

ill play with you also

will send PM.

DRommel -> RE: WAW 5T (5/17/2010 2:02:31 PM)

sorry but i have two games going at the moment
next time maybe
please try an to do an AAR

GrumpyMel -> RE: WAW 5T (5/17/2010 3:39:56 PM)

I'm up for it. My advice would be to do a 4 player game and have whoever plays SU do China as well...as there is really no conflict of interest there and it tends to speed things up.

ezto -> RE: WAW 5T (5/18/2010 4:19:22 AM)

Ok so far I got
Germany Grumpy/open
Japan Grumpy/open
SU/China Ezto
West 82nd trooper

So we need one more axis and grumpy to choose which axis he wants to be. Would you guys also like to do a simple AAR?

ezto -> RE: WAW 5T (5/18/2010 5:53:02 AM)

ok grumpy took Germany. Japan anyone?

explorer2 -> RE: WAW 5T (5/18/2010 6:38:33 AM)

I'm hoping to have T6 out Tues, 5/18 in the morning in Pacific Daylight Time, which is GMT -9.
It will have Dutch East Indies including northern New Guinea and Solomons being historically accurately uninvolved until after the Pacific Blitz.
Also a slightly adjusted Pacific Ocean map giving more accurate distances from Pearl to Sydney.

Also thinking about restoring first turn for SU to awake to January instead of February, giving them one more turn to get ready.
Any thoughts on that one?

82ndtrooper -> RE: WAW 5T (5/18/2010 6:55:02 AM)

aye we can do an aar  dosent have to be really fancy.

and i am having some concerns about the dutch east indies change. the west needs that supply.   we reduced the west production and if we take that supply away early its going to have an impact.   it you make that change than we need to do something to remady that.

These all sound good to me.

explorer2 -> RE: WAW 5T (5/18/2010 5:58:23 PM)

Sorry guys, real life getting in the way unfortunately of getting it out this morning.
I"m done at work at 8:00 pm PDT. I'll try to knock it out right after that.
Thanks for the feedback.

RufusTFirefly -> RE: WAW 5T (5/18/2010 5:59:23 PM)

Sorry for the mistake, guys. But I didnt want to participate. I only wanted to invite ezto to another game where we had a slot available (it is taken now). So I would only participate in case you are urgently needing another palyer. But it seems as if there are enough volunteers [;)]

82ndtrooper -> RE: WAW 5T (5/18/2010 6:35:40 PM)

ahh cool rufus.

we still need a player for Japan if anyone is interested.

ezto -> RE: WAW 5T (5/19/2010 2:07:13 AM)

so im guessing we switch this to T6? also we still need a Japan player.

Tufkal2 -> RE: WAW 5T (5/19/2010 2:52:18 AM)

I would volunteer for Japan if the slot is still open....

ezto -> RE: WAW 5T (5/19/2010 3:05:49 AM)

ok so we have it
Germany Grumpy
Japan Lunaticus
SU/China Ezto
West 82nd-Trooper

So shall we go ahead with 5T or the upcoming 6T? Also Grumpy and 82nd feel free to start a modest AAR if you wish.

82ndtrooper -> RE: WAW 5T (5/19/2010 4:55:12 AM)

well we are so close to it being ready we may as well wait now

explorer2 -> RE: WAW 5T (5/19/2010 5:44:43 AM)

Just uploaded 6T to scenario bank.

Here's the changes:

Removed free city garrisons to UK when playing Historical Western Blitz
Adjusted Pacific Ocean map to more accurately reflect distances from Pearl to Australia
Changed Dutch East Indies & Solomons to more historically accurate not in war until Pacific Blitz
Added 2000 free supplies to Calcutta until JA declares war with China, removed 2000 of new JA production, in order to aid game balance

Posts, both public and private, gave overwhelming rejection of the free UK city garrisons. Point well taken, so now removed.

New Pacific map should more accurately give the importance of Guadalcanal as a base used to interdict USA supplies to Australia. (thanks 82nd)

I also just completed a fair amount of research from numerous sources about exports from Dutch East Indies in war years.
Almost all their exports went to JA and USA from 1939 to July 1941. When USA declared embargo on JA 6 months prior to Pearl, Dutch East Indies did the same. UK was getting virtually nothing from DEI. Also, Allied troops did not base there until after Pearl Harbor. Thus the need to get them out of the game until Pearl.

I checked India's production as well, and it was also fairly small until Pacific war heated up. They did contribute a number of infantry however, especially starting in 1943 and the push to retake Burma. I think the changes I made will more accurately reflect these historical realities without throwing game balance too far in JA's favor. Play testing (which I obviously haven't had time to do yet) will give us a better idea of how this change improves or not game balance while adding more accurate historical flavor.

Hope you guys have a great game. I will follow it with anticipation.

GrumpyMel -> RE: WAW 5T (5/19/2010 3:25:37 PM)

Thanks Explorer2,

Hey guys, just let me know the options you want and I'll download the scenerio and start up the game.

explorer2 -> RE: WAW 5T (5/19/2010 4:10:12 PM)

8:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time:
Just ammended file to take away 2000 of new JA production to balance some of the supply loss by Dutch East Indies no longer belonging to West.

I don't expect to be making any more changes for awhile now, unless people discover bugs. Real life very busy.

82ndtrooper -> RE: WAW 5T (5/19/2010 5:25:22 PM)

I like all the changes explorer and I am ready to have a great rime testing them out.

Grumpy I would suggest just standard settings nothing fancy. maybe historical western blitz if you want.

GrumpyMel -> RE: WAW 5T (5/20/2010 6:15:28 AM)

Alright game started and first turn played. Here are the options I picked. Hope they work for everyone..

-FOW
- Passwords
- Anti-Supply
- Anti PBEM Cheat
- Special units
- Historical Western Blitz
- Canadian Supply of UK
- Accelerate Ship Production

Will start an AAR for the AXIS. Allies should probably do a seperate one so we don't have to worry about divulging intel.

GrumpyMel -> RE: WAW 5T (5/25/2010 3:00:53 AM)

Who has the turn now?

82ndtrooper -> RE: WAW 5T (5/25/2010 6:49:02 AM)
