Erik Rutins -> "Work in Progress" Screenshots Thread (5/24/2010 7:57:48 PM)

Hi guys,

We are eager to tell you what we've all been up to and hopefully we'll be able to start that process very soon as we've now entered what we hope is the final stabilization and bug checking phase. I've set up this thread so that the team can post some occasional preview screenshots as that process moves along. We are planning to give you all a full press release as well as some weekly videos, AARs and development/design notes as we get closer to release.

Regards,

- Erik

Eric check your PM's because I want to buy this game :)

HA HA

Erik Rutins -> RE: "Work in Progress" Screenshots Thread (5/24/2010 9:48:01 PM)

I did receive your PM yesterday and already queried the store on that, but haven't heard back yet. I just sent them another query. Please let's keep this thread for the promo screenshots and any commentary on the them though.

Mad Russian -> RE: "Work in Progress" Screenshots Thread (5/24/2010 11:45:21 PM)

Just FYI, your code had already been used? We reset it, please give it another try or let me know if the order already went through and we'll apply it retroactively. Please respond by e-mail to erikr@matrixgames.com. Thanks.

One criticism of PC that I always found totally bogus was that the graphics engine was somehow lacking. As soon as high(er)-poly vehicles began to appear, anyone but a blind idiot should have been able to discern otherwise. The Tigers look terrific, BTW. Hats off to the builder. [8D]

Stridor -> RE: "Work in Progress" Screenshots Thread (5/25/2010 2:33:46 AM)

Sadly MR hasn't turned anisotropic filtering or antialiasing on for his screen shots, so it looks even better when these features are turned on.

Almost every vehicle has been redone to a higher standard in PCK "Next", and not just higher poly counts with better textures but more and better animations.

However even that is just the tip of the iceberg for what is soon approaching ...

That's because he's playing the game on a P2-366 with a diamond multimedia 4mb video card. [;)]

JudgeDredd -> RE: It's Good to Be King (5/26/2010 6:56:04 AM)

can't wait. This will definitely revitalise a great game for me.

BigJ62 -> RE: It's Good to Be King (5/26/2010 11:14:43 AM)

Outstanding!

wodin -> RE: It's Good to Be King (6/1/2010 12:41:38 AM)

Stridor,

Everytime and I mean EVERYTIME I go to swat that bug on my screen....

benpark -> RE: It's Good to Be King (6/2/2010 1:23:28 AM)

Here's one of the general landscape changes. We have tried to make the game less like a featureless "board" and appear more like natural terrain with lots of place-able vegetation choices. FPS it is not, but it's a lot better to look at.

Prince of Eckmühl -> RE: It's Good to Be King (6/2/2010 2:54:37 AM)

I'd be a lot happier if that t34 in the sunflowers had some smoke coming out of it and a corpse hanging out of the hatch.

Mad Russian -> RE: It's Good to Be King (6/2/2010 4:58:06 AM)

Some vehicles explode when hit. Others die quietly. The one you see has burned itself out after the fire. The destruction time for each destruction is variable.

Good Hunting.

That T34 is a "static" model that I placed on map to signify an area that had seen some previous combat. We like to let the player make the 'splosions happen.

gijas17 -> RE: It's Good to Be King (6/6/2010 10:24:29 PM)

Love it guys! Great job. Looks a heck a lot better - more detail is what we need. Now if I can only install Kharkov before this patch comes out. Having trouble re-downloading the game through Matrix.

Erik Rutins -> RE: It's Good to Be King (6/7/2010 3:20:10 AM)

Hi Gijas,

Feel free to e-mail me at erikr@matrixgames.com if you need help with that.

Regards,

Geordie -> RE: It's Good to Be King (6/24/2010 10:23:16 AM)

Some nice screenshots there.  Well done to all involved with this so far for those alone.

JMass -> RE: It's Good to Be King (7/6/2010 5:21:29 PM)

Panther Ausf. A (and in a short time also the Ausf. D) enters in the PC arsenal. [8D]

(I apologize, the SS could be better, I take it on my laptop in a test session so no AA and AF only 8)

=NF=Ruz Skullen -> RE: It's Good to Be King (7/8/2010 1:04:24 PM)

where can I find the Tiger 2's, and the Desert colored Tiger 1's?

JMass -> RE: It's Good to Be King (7/8/2010 1:11:29 PM)

The link to download the Tiger II is in a "Maps, Models and Mods" discussion, to have the Tiger I it is necessary to wait for the patch.

Tophat1815 -> RE: It's Good to Be King (7/15/2010 9:15:24 PM)

More screen shots!!!! Nasty evil aircraft ripping the snot out of armour! Infantry in action! Some of the mundane background scenery as well.How about a town or village shot as armour passes through?

This is not a secret and is not as touted as other aspects but the new Mapmaker has the ability to make maps (if you wish) from the real topography. You can import the data and make a map of anywhere in Europe - from Ponte du hoc to Stalingrad. So it could be as mundane or unusual as you choose. For example I did a map of city of Msensk from the real topography and Google Earth info. The pictures were posted here on some thread probably a year ago.

Tophat1815 -> RE: It's Good to Be King (7/15/2010 9:45:31 PM)

Ahhhh,sorry..............I had thought there would be changes from that time.I just had been having some major flashbacks to combat mission BB and thought this game would be a fine way to satiate that desire.
