ARIS -> East vs West 49 campaign (11/27/2000 5:42:00 AM)

Both pbem campaigns for the game are nice. How about a East (SU) vs West (US and GB) '49 campaign?

I think WB is working on something like US v USSR after WW2

Yes, I am Toey, although I like the idea of a confrontation between western powers too. We'll have to see what we can do, Aris. Wild Bill ------------------ In Arduis Fidelis Wild Bill Wilder Coordinator, Scenario Design Matrix Games

Actually I was talking about a pbem campaign, like the two already set up in the matrixgames site.(east 43 and west 44) I know about WB plans. For the moment I'm stuck at the first scenario of the latest campaign (watchword Freedom). The fighting was so fierce, that there was even a blackout during gameplay!

Hi, Hmmm better start in '45 so the US can drop a bomb on Moscow from a B-29. I would love to purchase a B-29 with a "Fat Man" as a strike element hahaha. I have to find the web address for a scenario I read about "East-West" war that started With Soviets allied with Japan at end of WWII in Europe (they make Soviet's lose when battle fields go to tactical nukes since US can build them faster and USSR has nothing to compare with B-29 for delivery) IMO one of the main reasons for the US dropping the bombs on Japan was to convince USSR not to try a war with the West, then after they developed and tested their bomb in '48 you got the cold war. But it would have made Georgie Patton very happy to go bonk Russians in '45 perhaps you could have him start it? ------------------ I'm not retreating, I'm attacking in a differant direction!

In this case, Stalin and Koniev are the villians and they carefully avoid 3rd Army, instead striking Hodge and his 1st Army at the Elbe with a drive towar Hannover. Still works pretty good but no "Fat Boy" ARGH. Well ARIS, that is one tough fight. What blacked out, the computer or you ? Just kidding! Hi WB I don't think Georgie was particular who he started a war with. For the West versus West war you could have him attack Monty or DeGaulle, or Franco or Tito, or....well anyone within gun shot range. 3rd Army runs amok and fights everyone! He recruits Germans and renagade Russians. That way each player could have anything and everything in their force. ------------------ I'm not retreating, I'm attacking in a differant direction!
