Hi fellows, David changed the banner rotation script. Do you people with the script troubles still get a "virus warning" when accessing Matrix sites? Thanks, Marc

Halgary -> (10/14/2001 9:49:00 PM)

Yes, unfortunately it's still there.

Heinkel -> (10/15/2001 6:09:00 PM)

Yes, it was there, and that caused a funny situation on my school...
Itīs weird how funny those virus messages can be...

Halgary -> (10/16/2001 10:04:00 PM)

Hey! Now there is no alert! There is no banners either though...

Charles2222 -> (10/16/2001 11:34:00 PM)

I had been getting this over the weekend while at home. I'm not at home now, nor know if it still does it or not, but at least while at work, at the present moment it's not doing it. At home I did redirect my favorites to the forums instead of the general Matrix home page, to get around having to deal with it all of the time.

Marc von Martial -> (10/17/2001 12:17:00 AM)

Well the point in this whole matter is, that there is no virus or trojan. A few virus scanners adress the banner rotation script as a trojan . Will get rid of the banner rotation script we have now.
Cheers, Marc

Charles2222 -> (10/17/2001 6:17:00 AM)

I'm disgusted. I come home and I'm getting trojan alerts on every single screen, including this one.

No need to be disgusted, as thereīs no trojan or whatsoever. itīs the script that is adressed as one. Weīll get rid of it ASAP, but these are very very busy days here over at Matrix. Sorry for the inoportuneness

Marc Schwanebeck [GS_Marcks]: 10-4

Erhmmm, sorry I donīt get that .

Galahad -> (10/18/2001 4:39:00 AM)

10-4 is american slang for ok, which i guess is still slang. Im still getting the virus warning too. At this point I ignore, but newcomers to the site may think it is a real virus. Not a good thing in the world of business. Galahad

Charles2222 -> (10/18/2001 5:21:00 AM)

10-4 is part of a code used by police, and used in citizen's band radio as well. I suppose the purer definition of 10-4 would be "understood or acknowledged". I don't recall too much of the code anymore, but I believe 10-8 meant "have arrived" for example.

Marc von Martial -> (10/18/2001 3:30:00 PM)

Allright thanks, I have a word document somwhere with all those number codes. OK is definetly slang but itīs also a very common word over here in Germany . Youīre right about that "virus/business" matter. I guess we should just take te banner rotation offline untill we found a better one and have the time to incorporate it. Marc

axrael -> (10/19/2001 8:50:00 AM)

Marc I can't believe you didn't know the term 10-4!!! I'll have to do you a phonetic alphabet next , lol.

Marc von Martial -> (10/19/2001 2:36:00 PM)

Man, please translate the german slang word "gebongt" for me , hehehehe.
I also didnīt get what you replied to me on the MG Forum, you know this "apples & peaches" thing. When youīre back in Bonn Iīll only talk straight german slang to you
