This happens when the memory used for video gets corrupted. There are several causes. If you don't have enough RAM on your machine or running a lot of programs in the background that eat up your RAM is one cause. More frequently, it's what Pompack said. If you are running in the default, full screen mode and Alt+Tab out and back, the video memory can get messed up. This is a DirectX thing and we don't have complete control over it. It happens less now than it did with WitP, but it still happens sometimes. If you are switching screens back and forth, it tends to happen less frequently if you are in windowed mode. Change the command line for the game with the -w switch and the game will come up in windowed mode (there are many posts in the forum about command line switches and how to set them). If the native resolution of your system is set very fine, the window might end up fairly small though. If you change the native resolution to something a little finer than 1024X768, the window will show up close to full screen. Bill
