Wenla -> Messaging lost (6/4/2010 1:16:52 PM)

V1.0.4.9, new game, Win 7 (64b), 400 stars, year 2849, 231 colonies, 140 system, ships & bases 4117.

After loading saved game, messages are not showing/rolling. This happened two times before, but reappereard after exit => start => load, but not any more. This hasn't happened with earlier, smaller (=less stars) games or versions.

When I start a new game with same settings, messages roll again normally.

Any body else seen/experienced this?

Yarasala -> RE: Messaging lost (6/4/2010 3:36:56 PM)

I also have the problem that sometimes after loading a save the messages don't show in the message window on top. For me it always worked to exit and restart the game. Since the problem shows no pattern I didn't post it yet, and since it works after restart with the same save game it doesn't seem to be save game related.

Florestan -> RE: Messaging lost (6/5/2010 10:43:33 PM)

I've got the very same with one of my saves...

deanco2 -> RE: Messaging lost (6/6/2010 2:06:25 PM)

I reported this a while ago, even uploaded a save game...

...until I realized a reload fixed it.

Have a feeling they're having a hard time locating that bug, seems random.

randal7 -> RE: Messaging lost (6/7/2010 2:00:22 PM)

Happened to me yesterday, for the second time. I've played almost daily for over a month, and this is the only significant problem I've seen, so I also suspect some kind of random problem rather than a system related trouble.

Wenla -> RE: Messaging lost (6/8/2010 2:03:08 PM)

And again! New game. I couldn't get messages rolling even when I exited => loaded ten times. This happened now earlier (game time), but I also had bigger galaxy. Had 136 coclonies. Do I just have bad luck or what, but it would be nice to get even one game finished 'legally'. I know that this is difficult problem to correct, but...

randal7 -> RE: Messaging lost (6/17/2010 11:41:58 PM)

Had this again today under 1.0.5.6.

Try looking in your trash bin or any other bins you have. I think it's because if you have too much files in your mail they start getting deleted. If they are not in any files they are probably lost for good.

I suggest next time you copy and paste all the text into a word document for future references.

I haven't seen in any 1.0.5.X fixed bugs - list fix for this. I haven't so far ended any single game as 'normal' and if this is not fixed, it's propably game-stopper for me, what is shame, because I otherwise like much this game.

Exit => start => load doesn't help, when messaging is vanished, it doesn't come back...

I don't have possibility to try beta patch beacuse of membership registration error.

Wenla -> RE: Messaging lost (9/1/2010 7:30:10 PM)

This is frustrating! The bug is still in V1.0.6.0. and exit=>restart don't solve the problem, not even after very many tries.

I can understand that it is difficult to find out why this happens, but...

Can I EVER finish any game 'normal' way?

torrenal -> RE: Messaging lost (9/2/2010 2:51:55 AM)

Hmm... the messages show as clickable links... I would question whether the galactopedia works when this occurs, or if anything whatsoever outside the links appears broken.

With UI items, screen size is sometimes an issue, however that's usually an all or nothing kind of thing, not a 'now it works, now it doesn't'. //Torrenal

I'll try this next time it happens for me (and I'm sure that it WILL happen [:@] )

Like I told, I don't have to wait long...

Everything else worked except messaging. Also log is written correctly. It allways happens when played longer.

Krelos -> RE: Messaging lost (9/25/2010 12:40:38 PM)

Just wanted to chime in here, I get this exact same problem very frequently.

Everything else works, but the scrolling messages just disappear, and when they do, nothing brings them back.
I can still see them when I go to see the message history, they are all there as if they had appeared normally, they just don't show on the scroll-window.

Version 1.0.6.0

Wenla -> RE: Messaging lost (12/19/2010 11:44:58 AM)

Anybody knows if this has been fixed with RoTS? Erik?

elliotg -> RE: Messaging lost (12/19/2010 10:26:10 PM)

Yes, this issue has been fixed in Return of the Shakturi.
