My experience is that the fall of Rabaul will pretty much halt Japanese activity in the SW Pacific. The AI might switch a large number of fighters to Burma. Particularly if China is quite. It won't break the AI, but I wonder if taking Truck will? Thats a tough nut, but worth it if you are pursuing a Central Pacific strategy. I have not read any PBEM games where a central pacific strategy, or even the historical 2 prong strategy has been tried. Most folks go the soft underbelly to the DEI approach.
