Saburo Kurusu -> Economic max sorties management.... (7/4/2010 6:52:57 PM)

Hello to everyone!

Finally I made the decision to buy that outstanding game (after more than one year of silent reading in here!) three weeks before and I definetely don't regret it! I've been searching something like this since the good old C64-age "War in the South Pacific" and now I'm the most happy person to get what I've longed for such a long period of time!!! And joining here as JFB (of course!) is absolutely a great pleasure for me......

But to my (perhaps noob) question:
How do you succeed in most economically managing your CV max sorties ability?
As a starter, I'm still playing the Guadalcanal Scen, and feel the need to stay with my carriers on place 24/7, e.g. to get rid of those annoying supply convois.... [sm=sterb003.gif]

I have my fighters all the time on prime mission Escort with 50% on CAP and the bombers on Naval Attack with secondary mission on Rest and no percentages given to anything else.....

Thanks very much for any input! [sm=00000436.gif]

Welcome aboard to the best game ever created ,even if you are a JFB[:D]

What you can do is set your DB to 50% strike and 50% search as the computer decides what the strike package is. You can set your TBs the same.

Did you kiss your life goodbye before you bought the game ?

Thanks very much che200!
Well, sort of. I'm very much convinced that this addiction will lead to a very heavy time investment, but it's worth it! [:)]
And you need something for the long winter evenings, which certainly will arise again later this year.....

To your advice: I will give it a try! Normally, I try to reduce the sorties for search by "outsourcing" this task to a CS included in the carrier TF, and to the Tone class cruisers.

I can go back to my life anytime the devil lets me!

Don't forget naval search and ASW search.
Can be done with float planes from CA and BB of course.
But has to be considered anyway.
Good luck and good hunting [;)]
